Club Football, what do you think ?

Well, there`s another footy game coming to the PC, so we can have more alternative now. It`s Club Football, here`s the web-site : http://www.codemasters.com/clubfootball/front.htm
IMO, the graphic is very good, some faces there even look better than FIFA, and hopefully they know that Rivaldo is a lefty ( yeah, yeah I know I said that many times, but just in case the smart boys at EA will also set Carlos as a righty in 2004, I mean who knows what their brains made of . . . ), so have anyone got the demo or something ?

The game will only be released for PS2 and XBOX...
The release is planned for Autumn 2003.

Codemasters usually convert their games to PC a while after releasing on consoles, so I would expect them to release club football on PC about 6 months to a year after.

The problem is that it was originally planed for PC, even PC Gamer had the first screen shots but CM decided to can it. :kader:

I'm planning to buy the ps2 version , and IMO it looks very good, they got the Nike balls , the absoulute correct stadida and also the kits and adboards really excel.

they started development of the game way before the transfer, if you look at the date for that, it was from last yr. I am sure they changed it.

Either way, it looks good, but will it play good? the players look funny when they run

check out the april issue of the official Man Utd magazine. Theres a 3 page article on club football.
Here's a quote that sounds interesting

"And with Xbox and Playstation2 featuring online options, you'll be able to keep up with the latest Beckham haircut via a simple download"

ALSO

"You'll get shots of the players on the bench leaping around when their team scores, or, as we also have the rights to use Alex Ferguson in the game, the manager getting out of his seat and waving at players in the field when things aren't looking good"

wow i may buy PS2 soon and this game sounds good.....but....waht if they get something wrong....:kader:

To go online for XBOX or PS2 it is expensive....

hopefully EA will see this program, realize they are in a competitive market, and put a half-decent program out next year.

Wouldnt it be great if EA were as enthusiastic as codemasters.
BTW The modes in the game are domestic season (league and cup) European super league (12 teams, 2 groupd of 6, then knockout stage) Exhibition mode and custom competitions where you can compete against any of the other 258 clubs in the game.

Codemasters have close links with Man Utd. They even went to take photos of the players to make the faces, and also did motion capturing. 25 Man U faces are in the game, each with their own body.
Old Trafford has been built based on architectural drawings and Blueprints supplied by Man Utd. Real Chants have been recorded at home matches by the codemasters team. Even the adboards are placed on the perfect place.
The only mention of gameplay is that they are looking closely at making the best gameplay ever, they say that they like the PES2 gameplay for its learning curve, and they appreciate the Fifa gameplay for the pick up on play factor.
There is also a mention of codemaster releasing a new game every year.
My only worry at the moment is if you buy the Man U version of the game, will you only be able to play as Man U??

I think Codemasters have made some excellent games, and I think they will give thi one a good go, but Football games are surely the hardest games to program.
The one thing that codemasters seem to have is enthusiasm. als think that the fact that they are taking so long to make this game means they are trying to make it the best it can possibly be.
