CM 4 Tactics

Well look at the tactic.

3-5-2.

You will need pacey defenders certainly. Thes ones with pace should be the DLC and DRC so they can get across to wingers (Y).

Obviousley the two MC with run arrows back will have to have decent tackling, being a DMC is probably best. Someone like Hakan Mild or Lee Bowyer is perfect for this position. The wingers should be fast, creative and skillful for the level you are playing at. The AMC does seem to not score many, but be a playmaker. Creativity is a must.

When playing with two strikers, I tend to go for a strong one who should play FLC, and a pacey one who is suited to FRC.

Hope that helps/

hey want to know an excellent tactic 4-2-3-1 attacking full backs, defensive mids and full backs crossing from deep with central attacker playing a free role and right and left attacking mids crossing from touchline and running with the ball.works especially good with short passing, standing off with defensive mids always closing down, counter attacks and men in front of the area.
The best teams to use this tactic with is a team with players like a zidane or totti even del piero who can play expertly behind a striker

I can safely say that 4-4-2 Diamond doesn't work :(

I always liked playing a player behind the front two as well :(

ratings!

in my game, whatever i try, the ratings in the training stays at two stars!!
I heard that if you let your assistant manager handle the training (manager options) the ratings would change... but that doesnt happen:(:(

does anyone know how to solve this??

Nope. I have been using a 4-4-2 with England. Played around 10, scored about 25, conceded 2.

I'm using 4-4-2 with my PSV team.
2 centre backs(ultra defensive), 2 full backs(normal).
2 central midfielders(MCL attacking, MCR defensive), 2 wingers(attacking).
2 strikers.

Team instructions:
Zonal marking, counter-attacking, gung-ho style, short passing.

This tactic works very well for me. Managed to beat Parma 5-0 in the UEFA Cup final. :D

I just tried a 4-4-2 with Real Madrid. Because I wanted the tactic to be unique, I set Carlos on forward runs, run with ball, gung-ho, run with ball, long shots. Within 20 seconds with Hierro and Salgado with the ball, Carlos ran from DL to striker, Figo crossed it in, and Carlos volleyed home from the penalty spot. He had no run arrows on him either. Very funny indeed.

I tend to play with the DL on run with ball, forward runs and cross from touchline. The ML hold up ball, that way I tend to get a decent overlap. The ML will have normal mentality, whereas the DL will have attacking/gung-ho. The same as for the DR and MR.

The two centre backs use zonal marking, all 4 defenders stay back for set pieces, and they are set to ultra defensive.

MLC will have an arrow to DMC, be defensive, direct passing, through balls. The MRC will have a run line to AMC. Then the obvious hold up ball, long shots, through ball.

The two FLC will have hold up ball, through ball. The FRC run with ball, forward runs

So would it be an accuarate summation (from someone who does not possess CM4 due to lazy realeasing in Australia) that tactics suit specific teams and players? You have to find the correct balance? If this is so, it is of greater similarity to real football, when compared to CM 01/02. Which I should enjoy. If I am correct..

Yes, I suppose that's true. With Rangers FC I had to use a 4-1-2-1-2, while playing Vitesse Arnhem had me using a 4-3-1-2 tactic. Any other tactics simply wouldn't work.

with Inter i play the 3-1-4-2, though it aint working right well. I play attacking.
