Post your ideas on where the CM forum should go.

Should this forum be renamed to Football Manager forum, seeing as FM will be the same game as old CM's? We could talk about CM 4 in the Older Titles subforum.

Or should all the threads from here including the subforums be merged into one forum called Pre-2005 Championship Manager?

What about mods?

For now I'm keepin this in the Boardroom, and soon I will move it to the CM Forum to see what people have to say about it.

i think the plan is atm to rename that forum "Football Manager 2005" and create a new forum for "Championship Manager 5"

But i guess we could get one "Pre CM5" subforum as part of CM5 :confused:

My opinion:

CM5 has nothing at all to do with the earlier versions of CM, so they wouldn't be in their place there.
A link disguised as a subforum in the CM5 section, and the real older titles subforum in the FM section, is what I recommend. If that's possible.

The current Championship Manager section should be renamed to Football Manager. Maybe name the developer in the subtitle.

The existence of the FM 2002 section in the "Other Management Games" section might be confusing as well. Maybe a link to there from the FM section could help that. Again: if possible.

FM 2002 could be renamed to "FA Premier League Football Manager 2002", as that was the real name of the game.

The FM/CM question is tricky. I think most people in the know will go with FM but there would be a lot of people who would be confused if the CM forum all of a sudden became a FM forum.

But having said that I think the CM forum should become FM. FM is basically CM with a different name whereas CM is a completely new series except for the name.

I think what should NOT be done, is merging all of the threads and forums from pre-FM, or pre-2005 and putting them in one thread. It never works, people end up searching through dozens of pages for what they want, and when they think they have found it, it ends up being something from 01/02.


FM and the older CM games should be together, since FM will have almost the same data. CM 2005 should get its own forum since it will likely to turn out to be something completely different than we are used to.

My idea.

Create 3 new forums.

This CM can become known as the Older CM forum.

Create a new forum for CM and a new forum for FM.

Although FM is similar to the old CM it is still a new series like the new CM so I think they deserve their own forum. Not only that I think it is much clearer.

Rename this one Football Manager forum and keep all threads in this one, make a new forum for CM5

on the description of the forums you can put in stuff about where to post, also with regular mods on the CM forum you'll be able to move threads quick enough

i dont think having 3 forums is a good idea. Maybe call it 'SIGAMES - Football Manager Forum' so people will have more of a clue before posting.

That would my suggestion, for the mods keep them the same, unless certain members wont be buying CM5 at all or even playing it, but i think Ruud and liam are trying both, am i right?

We shouldn't forget the release of FM'06 and CM6 next year, where would we leave the games they are about to release?

FM'05 in the older games section, and CM5?

Who says theres going to be a Cm6 anyway Cm5 mite flop real bad and they mite not continue with it

It's been out ever since I reformatted my PC (to be able to play CM 01/02 again, had to install Win98SE for that).

My little brother did something to it last night, and now it works again.
