well well, ive been recently convinced by TROD, i am playing TCM04 (or i "was" playing) now i got CM0304, and the questions rises up:
-if there is a shortlist i cant find it, there is??
-what is the potential all talk about?? where can you see it??
sorry if the questions are stupid, ive only play the game a few hours.

<edit, R>watch it, no mention of that stuff here</edit>

1. When you click "player/staff search" all your shortlisted players are displayed on the first screen or the first tab on the right. It also means that you get new on the players that are in your shortlist (e.g. Transfers, Contract Expiry etc.). And also some news on the team he plays for.

2. Potential Ability is a hidden stat, its how good a player can potentially come (higher better - 200 best). Need CM scout to see it

to a certain extent you can, all the first few divisions clubs (and maybe their reserves) but not to great detail without creating a .ddt (look in the How To Thread)

CM scout is a very handy program although it's much of cheat program though. To tell you the truth you actually may not see the potential ability of a player.

only the thing that some of you have already staed this program here, shows how many are using it to cheat. Sad thing. Just let the guy play the game. CM isnt hard if you are cheating. it is hard when you arent.

The fact of the matter is without CM scout you have no idea how your players will turn out to be or indeed who they are. I let my scouts at Leeds find players and they brought me David ******* Murphy who became the backbone of defence and led Leeds into mediocritiy for the next 4 seasons. On the flanks I bought players such as Tamoshauskas when I played with Lokomotiv Moscow. He's a great left flank player with great stats, but you can't tell his effectiveness from just stats. You need CM-Scout to give you a rating and his ability. This is why I no longer buy players such as him because for one hundreth of that I can just buy Braathen and actually win something instead of being forced into taking guesses on players.

Did I have fun when I played for 4 seasons with Leeds and won **** all except the UEFA Cup and a bunch of domestic cups? No

Did I have fun when I played with West Ham and with CM-Scout bought players such as Riedel (15 yearold regen), Appleton (15 - probably regen) and got to find actually good prospects? Yes I did.

If you look at this thread http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&threadid=103440&highlight=why+inter

you can see I didn't use CM scout as much as you think but instead found great players like Leigertwood by myself and played with the transfer market to get Ryan Garry for 7K and Simon Johnson for 10K.

CM is way more fun with CM Scout.

I agree with Alex, I used it too before, but I don't anymore, and finding a talent by scouting is sooo much more satisfying then by using CMscout.

What do you mean by ''staed'' though:( ?

EugeneF: Isn't that guessing realistic, didn't PSV guess when they bought Robben, did they know his potential ability?? No, CMscout doesn't exist irl.

Potential doesn't say that much btw, look at Maxim Tsigalko...

I found Alexandre, 19 years old from Marilia, that had 20 on finishing and they sold me him at 18k WITHOUT using Cheat Scout. (this on CM4, but it's the same)

It's not so hard to find good prospects, Players Search is fantastics, if you have a good scout that could find players, also, you just need to analize "It has this" or not.

Also playing with Consadole Sapporo, with that bunch of Scouts, I found players like Robert Cullen (he is Japanese/Norireland) 17 years old, 19 on finishing, striker, and Lee Yong-Rae, KOR, 16 years old, 15 on dribbling, 18 on technique... and many others

It's not so hard if you know how to search

I always send scouts to places like Brazil, Italy, or Holland and sometimes I get good youngsters like my scout brack back like 3 Brazilian defenders and they all look awesome.

if you are new and inexperienced as to how the game works, start off with a stronger team. learn the ways of the game and familiarize yourself with it. experiment with tactics and schedules. people like to start using lower level teams when they have experience because its more fun, since stonger teams have a better chance of winning. but to start, take a stronger team.

If you are going to start with Barcelona that is the same type of "cheating" as using CM-Scout.

Don't start with a great team like Barcelona because you will have no fun and win everything. It will be absolutely effortless unless you sell every player you have and buy all new ones. Start with a team in one of the lowest divisions and bring them up. You won't have the energy to do it later, as you will spend 100+ hours either way.

if he doesn't know much and starts off with a ****ty team, he's not going to have fun as he's going to lose more often then not. better to start off with a good team and get a feel for the game and winning is more fun then losing, 'specially if you're just starting the game.

i always start with arsenal to get used to the game then go on to a lower league team. Thats just me some people might find it easier starting the lower leagues because the expectations arent so high
