I meant the money the head honchos get from the BSC system. It's all about endorsements and putting a brand name on a bowl game that will be watched by millions of people. That is why I don't understand why a fan of the game would support the BSC.

I think it'd be funny as hell if Troy or Middle Tennessee got in and won. But, of course, that's why the big conferences don't want it. Because of that possibility, however slim it is.

LOL at misspelling BCS twice in one post and purporting to know anything about college football.

Well, BYU absolutely hammered a team that nearly went to the Rose Bowl.

Not good for pro-BCS folk.........

I don't know why the NFL scheduled it's Thursday(24th) Night Football game for Friday Night(25th). As is the annual thing, everyone will be watching the Hawaii bowl......

Hawai'i Bowl on Thursday, TNF on Friday. Don't see the problem.

The Beavers seemed to have lost most of their mental strength against the Ducks. As soon as the first thing went wrong for them, they never got back in it.
BYU were there to prove a point. OSU wanted to play, but just seemed down after their loss in the Civil War game.

They changed it.......

I've always remembered the Hawaii Bowl being played on Christmas day. That's what threw me off.

It's been played on Christmas day only the first two times:

December 25, 2002
December 25, 2003
December 24, 2004
December 24, 2005
December 24, 2006
December 23, 2007
December 24, 2008
December 24, 2009

The Aloha Bowl, that preceded the Hawai'i Bowl, did get played on Christmas day a lot of times. But I'm probably taking this too far into the dangerous depths of statistics.

I watched it on the 25th in 2002 and 2003....and therefore assumed that it would have continued to be held on Christmas day. I don't think I've watched it much since then....I only watched parts of last year's game.....and the only reason for that was because of all the attention on the game with Notre Dame playing the home team. I thought it was on the 25th......guess not.

Anyways, another Mountain West team knocks off a PAC-10 team that, at some point in the season, had a shot at the Rose Bowl. For Utah, this is its 9th straight bowl victory. This is just embarrassing .... it's almost like the PAC-10 teams don't want to be there.

And USC, who plays Boston College, and Oregon(playing Ohio State) aren't guaranteed of wins either.

The only thing that's embarrassing is that we're pretending that TCU doesn't deserve to be in the National Title game ahead of Texas. BYU hammered OSU and Oklahoma, and got the **** kicked out of them by TCU; Utah crushed Cal and played Oregon really close in Eugene, and TCU mauled them. Texas Christian is clearly the second best team in the country, and the MWC was more legit this year than the Big 12. It's just fact.

The Big 12 sucks. That said, the MWC was the second best conference in America this year. They should add Boise ASAP and start calling their champion the national champion until the BCS lets them in.

Yeah, for sure. They have 9 teams, they could add Boise, Houston, and Fresno/Nevada/SMU (if Jerry Jones keeps this up) and be very very legit, plus have a Title Game.

Sexy matchup today.....Wisconsin-Miami. Both teams could have been playing on Jan. 1. Should be a good game.

BTW, the TexasA&M-Georgia game was a real disappointment. I expected a shootout, not a blowout.

Badgers beat the ******* **** out of Miami. The U took the opening kickoff back and scored in the last 2 minutes against prevent D, but aside from that their offense was dreadful... or should I say the Wisconsin Defense was fantastic. Wisconsin should of had more points; there was a stupid fumble at the goal line by Garrett Graham, and a stupid penalty on a huge third down play that took us to about the 10; plus we played very conservative by punting a few times on 4th and short in Miami territory. It was a ******* beat down.

And how hilarious was it to see all those Miami players in long sleeves crowding around the heaters in 49 degree weather. If it was 49 tomorrow in Milwaukee I would consider shorts. They really should rotate the Rose Bowl between Pasadena and Lambeau Field.

Yeah, I was really surprised at how well the Wisconsin defense played. Miami's offense did NOTHING! Their running game was a joke and the passing was ineffective. All because of the defense that they went up against.......

This sets things up for the Big-10. Ohio State can beat Oregon, despite their injuries,.....I think they will although Iowa-Georgia Tech is basically a toss up. Minnesota has a winnable game against Iowa State, Northwestern should be given a real test against Auburn, Penn State should have no problem beating LSU but Michigan State will probably lose to Texas-Tech.

There are 3 possible wins there......with this Wisconsin win that would give them a very respectable 4-2 bowl record. By comparison, the PAC-10 has already lost 2 games.

Kellen Moore seemed really off his game. He did enough, but that wasn't up to his usual standard.

He is, in my opinion, the best of the quarterbacks that were up for the Heisman.

No split national title now. TCU was the only hope.....and their best bet was a blowout win.

It should be pointed out that 2 of the unbeatens proved to be nothing more than a farcical joke - Cin. and TCU - neither got over the nerves of being in a big game (no the Orange bowl doesn't count.....it is largely irrelevant, other than when it hosts the national championship).

The PAC-10 finishes 2-5.
The Big-10 will finish, at worst, 3-4.

Bobby

Boise will call themselves National Champions anyway, and until there's a playoff, their word will be as legitimate as anyone's.

I don't think TCU was a farce, they played a tough schedule (BYU, Utah and Clemson are legit, at least as much as Oklahoma, Ok. State, and Texas A&M. BYU beat Oklahoma, after-all.) and just happened to come up against what is at least the #2 team in the country, I truly believe only Alabama would beat them.

TCU was the best team in Texas this season and it BURNS UT fans up inside.

If Texas loses, I'd rank Boise, Florida, and TCU above them in that order. If Alabama really lays the wood to them, Cincy and BYU too. With that said, Roll Tide.

You know, Boise tries to get Big 12 teams to come up to Idaho but they won't.

If they want to shut the Boise and TCU crowd up, play them and beat them. But not in Austin, you go there, Mack. Take your boys up the highway to Fort Worth, hell, play them in Arlington if it makes you happy! Or go up to Idaho and play the Broncos on the blue turf. But no, that's not the Mack Brown way. He's busy making phone calls to Jonesboro to see if Arkansas State wants to come to Austin next year.
