I know sometimes people get over excited about their team winning and stuff, but let's try to not start fights about the results of games.

And when your team wins, go out party and be very happy, but don't try to bring down the losing team. They lost, they know it, there's no point of making a big deal of it.

What I'm basically getting at is that sports like soccer are meant to unify people, not pit them against one another (except the players, they better be against each other during those 90 minutes!).

I couldn undersand why there were so many people who wanted England to lose so badly, well apart from Scottish and Welsh people.

It happened too much these three last days, when some guys obviously didn't like the fact that greeks celebrated so much-and on the other hand, some grreks maybe over-reacted. But I still think it is anyone's right to post whatever topic, as long as it is not insulting. After all, if someone just got into the forum, might not be so aware of what has been posted previously and would like to make a comment of their own.

english people will never get it, english fans take the piss out of scottish football, so we might as well take the pish out of when you guys get beat.

I think it could be a slight language, cultural barrier as well.

A lot of fans, especialyl us England fans like sarcastic jokes and are used to taking the mickey out of everything.

To other fans the jokes might look like insults. I guess in an international forum we have to be more sensitive about these things. Try not to be agitated too easily and share football instead of insults.

In Greece, fans are sarcastic too, especially when it comes to matches between local rivals, but we'd rather have a sarcastic and smart answer than a rude insult-sometimes it looks as though some guys only know one way to react instead to be humorous.

I don't get it. People i know who are Scottish and Welsh have nothing but prase for the England team and want us to do well. Yet in here totaly different story. :confused:

I don't think there's owt wrong with having a friendly joke about other countries. A bit of friendly banter wont do any harm.

As long as it stays that way becuase some people do take it to far and start going off topic.

A lot English fans go into every tournament saying that they will win it (not even do they say they have a chance just that they will win )...

and then there's the media...

Losing is a part of football or any other sport for that matter and losers being hammered by insults are..normal.
Because of that I cannot understand why post this now.
People will always argue and insult each other.It's what comes with losing and winning.
There was no need for this.It won't change anything.
