yes, very much so, despite what other people might think, it does effect your team. ESPECIALLY over the short term

If I bash them, they always seem to perform better against me :( I generally just like to be the quiet manager. Otherwise I try to be mr. nice guy.:p

I always respond with praises if the trainer praises me.
This made me become friends with Ranieri and the trainer of Numancia.

I always try to be friends with everyone. Beacuse when it comes to buying players or borrowing them, the coaches that you have good relationship with are much more likely to sell you someone cheaper, or with better condiotions (like only paying small amount up front). Plus they let you borrow their players more readyli.

I always say what's best for my team.Like for example, when I'm facing a tough match and the rival manager says I'm gonna lose the title race or something, I always respond that my team is ready to win etc.It raises the morale and the team performs better. And I especially like it when those idiot Valencia managers (no matter who goes there, they hate me) knock my team. They always get super motivated.

And I praise the managers that I like in real life (Mourinho).
I seem to have a 'friendship' with Juande Ramos. No matter what team he manages, and no matter what position I'm in, he always praises me.That boosts my team's morale and makes the players think how it's good that their boss is getting the praise he deserves etc etc.

It's good to have a relationship with a manager because it has a positive affect on your team.

At the start of the game, I used to say a lot of bad things for all Real M. managers (Valencia too), and my professionalism was like, 2 or 3.
Now, I praise the manager when I lose, or I anticipate a good rivalry with Espanyol.I once told some Madrid manager that if he beats me, he'll be the champ. My professionalism is now 17.

I made friends with manager who praises me and I fight back when managers criticise me. I like to criticise Mourinho and Wenger. :D

haha that's exactly what I do too
but sometimes when you bash other managers your own players react positive towards you. So I just looked at the League One Table and I saw that coventry was dead last. So I said that they we're gonna relegate. Several players in my team liked my attitude :D

when you've got a young team though, the players seem to appreciate you being a cocky **** and bashing those managers that were talking crap before the game... :D :D :D

Not all

If you are at a big team, players will critizice you
If you have some olds players, those one will criticize you

But in a notbig team, or a team with none +30 guys, bashing is almost always good, at least that happens to me.

EG:

I manage Racing Cba. a small team of Argentina, I'm in Premier Division after a season (I got promoted), and I flame Ramon Diaz (in my game he's manager of River)

Almost all my players react good to this, but Monserrat (37 yo, I waiting his retirement to see if he would become coach or something) and Galetto (31 or 32, really not remember :crazyboy: ) reacts bad saying "dissapoint at the unprofessional behavement of his manager"

And when I managed Chelsea, almost all the players were dissapointed by me, except Robben, Huth, Grant and all those youngsters :p (basically, all -23)
