As much as I like Soccer, I'm quite terrible at the games. In terms of playing them, I generally stick to 'Be A Pro' mode because I enjoy pretending I actually deserve to be on a pitch playing with my favorite players. As such, I either stick to playing on the wing or being a forward. Only issue with that is whenever I get a touch, I lose the ball within a few seconds. Whether it's due to my attempting to dash past a defender or while looking around for open space to pass, 90% of the time a defender touches my leg and that either sends me to the ground or causes me to lose possession.
I don't really know any tricks or anything, though with my player's rating (72) I suppose the number of tricks I do know are minimal.
That's not the only issue I have, of course...another one pertains to my misunderstanding of where I should be on the field. Obviously, arrows indicate when I'm straying, but in terms of where I should pass or where I should be to prepare for a pass. I do watch actual Soccer games but I guess I never analyze behavior...I mean, even if I did try the teams playing wouldn't always play in the same formation as teams I use..so...I'm unsure of how to go about it.
Get any 'Lawl, you're American and can't play Soccer' jokes out of the way. Not that I'm condemning anyone in the MLS or anything, but that's a common antagonizing remark. So...what should I do besides practice? Obviously, practice is good but if I keep practicing the wrong way, I won't really learn anything.
On a sort of side note, are there any YT channels that focus primarily on Fifa 12? Without highlighting Ultimate Team? I realize it's really popular but I haven't any ambition to play online. Perhaps a bit too much to ask for but...there it is.
