Interesting note: the away team is yet to win a game thus far in the Hex. That could well change today.

It's been a **** game. Neither side is playing the football it's capable of playing. Save for one great tackle and one good run respectively, Mastroeni and Clark have been ****. They're good destroyers, but between the two of them, they've never had a bright idea of what to do with the ball at their feet. I don't understand why Torres is not in the starting line-up, or why Adu is not even on the bench. No creativity in the middle of the field. Everything we've created has come, and will continue to come, from Donovan and Dempsey on the wings.

Casey has also been ****, but good workrate. Altidore actually looks worse than he did vs. Costa Rica, but I think it's probably the fatigue setting in.

Onyewu can play anywhere in the world, I've always been convinced of that.

Jonathan Spector has played very well on that right side. Not many guys are going to beat him, and he's done a good job coming forward.

We won, but T&T aside, our recent games have left a lot to be desired. Brazil is going to hammer us at this rate.

Exactly what I was thinking, Bobby. If we play like this at the Confed Cup, we'll get throttled.

Encouraging signs from Feilhaber, and Clark played much better in the second half. It's a shame Spector can't stay healthy, because he belongs in the starting XI, no question about it.

For a team led by a DC United reject (Eliseo Quintanilla), El Salvador are proving to be a surprisingly formidable opponent in this Hex. They could have beaten the US too, if they hadn't bunkered down with 20 minutes to go.

USA and Costa Rica have a game in hand. Mexico should have no problem dispatching of T&T on Wednesday, and Honduras will take care of business vs. El Salvador, so it's not as dire as it looks for either team right now. Still, I'm going to savor this moment.

If Mexico go down they are staring non-qualification in the face. A lot of pressure on them, and for some reason that fat, useless, sack of garbage Blanco is still getting minutes for them. Let's go Dwight Yorke!!

And yes, the US is going to get embarrassed in the Confederations Cup. I can't think of any scenario where we can even be competitive against Brazil. Can you imagine Dani Alves storming down the right side, effortlessly blowing by Donovan and Beasley, and connecting with a perfect ball to the top of the box that hits Elano, and he strikes a first timer right into the corner of the net beating a helpless Tim Howard? Because I can. I could also see either Gooch or Julio Baptista getting carted off on a stretcher, because that match up would look more like American Football.

Actually over the last 10 years or so Brazil has had noted problems against the USA, they ususally play them pretty tough

There is so much wrong in this team that it's not as surprising if a ****ty team like El Salvador or Honduras makes it to the World Cup instead of Mexico.

There is so much potential and talent, but this team can't even take out an average team like El Salvador. I'm embarrassed to admit having sit through that whole game.

I'm glad we're not going to the Confed Cup; this team would get ass raped in major fashion.

ouch LOL. Honestly if i had to pick out of the three to go i would want El Salvador. Honduras fans are cholo hooligans. I still get flash backs from the 2000 gold cup when those fruit cakes stormed the field @ the orange bowl stadium when Peru whooped them 5-2/3. Disgraceful fans.....

Sorry, I meant to say they've played an extra game.

The top 4 is definitely going be USA, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras. The only question is in what order, and most importantly, who will be 4th? Mexico still have four home games to play (out of 6 remaining), but so do Honduras. This one's definitely going down to the wire, unlike the last qualifying cycle's boring two-horse race.
