Conditioning Issues

Hi there, I was hoping someone could help me out.

I've just recently started my career (in Torino, Series B Italian League), and things are going quite well (4-2-0, and an easy 5-1 aggregate win in the first round of the local cup tourney). I'm beginning to run into a big problem though.

It seems all my players are getting terribly worn out.

The fitness levels on some of these guys are astounding.

My starting 11:
LF 98% (He seems to rarely tired below 85%)
ST 93% (He just came back from injury, hence the rest)
CB 77% (He has rested 2 complete games already, my top player)
RM 79% (Also rested 2 full games, both were around 30% before)
RB 63% (He has rested a game and a half)
LF 84% (Rested 2 games)
CAM 47% (I simply don't have enough players to give him rest)
CAM 89% (He rarely seems to tire at all)
CF 53% (Nothing much to note here)
CF 89% (Coming back off a multi-week injury, played 1 game)
GK 93% (Luckily he never seems to tire much)

After just a few matches, if I keep the same 11 in there each time, half of them will be around 30-45% fitness before the game even starts!

Could someone kindly give me some tips on keeping up fitness on my players? Should I be using my subs once I get a comfortable 1 or 2 goal lead to try and rest some players? I've basically been rotating out who I thought were the very tired (<50% fitness) players and starting my reserves/subs in their place.

Will putting points into the 'conditioning' upgrade be noticable? I'm around 50% of the way toward an upgrade in that category, and I'm really hoping it'll help.

Thanks for your time :)

-Justin

This doesn´t sound like a smart design choice from EA.
Oh...well. If the dynasty mode in NHL is anything like Fifa´s career system then, yes, putting points in the conditoning category wioll help you out greatly.

I think going through 2 matches of Coppa Nazionale early on, combined with not realizing how much the players would tire really hurt me. Also, in my first game I was struggling quite a bit, and holding down the r-trigger, running around like an idiot.

With that said, I'm still pouring all of my upgrade points into conditioning until I get it to level 1. I have Round 2 of Coppa Nazionale in a couple weeks, and I can't afford to have my 19 year old half-star players in there. ;)

Lol, does EA really think they can rely on a NHL game system to make a FOOTBALL game!!! lol :crazyboy:

After a hard-fought, exciting 3-0 win vs. Ascoli I was finally able to upgrade my conditioning to level 1. Much to my pleasure, the entire starting 11 is above 70% going into match 14 of the season, and all the players who were being rested as reserves or subs are 90% or above! This will certainly be a huge help as I approach the 3rd leg of Coppa Nazionale, and face off against a Series A club (Lazio! *Gulp*). I'm very, VERY happy, and have no complaints about conditioning now. :)

Pazzo..

The game is already released in certain parts of the world.

I believe it's already released in the UK. The ship date for the US (as far as I can tell) is still 10/12.

Peace out...

Hey Zhraiken... What teams can you be in the seria A in the career mode to start... Palermo, fiorentina?

To start off your career, you can't be any team in Serie A. However, from what I hear, if you set your 'favorite team' to a team in Serie A, and complete your Serie B club's goal in your first year (i.e. - promotion with Torino), you can get a job offer from your 'favorite club' after that first year.

Does anyone have the release date for Australia?

Zhariken: what do you rate the career mode /10 right now?

According to this it's out now in Australia.

I would give it an 8/10 so far.
Reasoning (varied):

*On semi-pro I'm having a pretty easy time of Serie A, 19-5-3, 10pts up after 27 games.

*I'd really like to see proper player portraits on the overlays/menus, would it be that hard to do? Would it? Since I don't know the teams that well, it's just names to me really, I'd like to see some personality/faces to go along with those names.

*I expect a much bigger challenge when I reach Serie A, and that'll prove to be more interesting than going out and beating up a Serie B team. I plan to lose, A LOT, but I just need to get better myself.

*I don't know when the transfer windows are, and they aren't listed anywhere at all (it only tells me after they closed..no warning...), that makes it a bit difficult for me.

*The 'upgrade' option for my staff gives me a long-term goal to go after, as well as a reward for winning all these games. Hopefully this'll help me slightly as I get promoted.

*I learn new things every match, and when I went into a ManU/Liverpool exhibition to take pictures, I found that one of the ManU players pulled off a simple flick of the ball my players haven't done yet. That gave me hope that as the quality of players increases, so will the quality of the matches (in style, that is).

*I almost scored on a free kick in my last match! ;) That means something, considering my free kicks usually end up in the food stands.

Thanks man you've been helpful.

While I'm asking questions.. can you tell me if there is the option of changing the game controls?

Aside from the quick-look guide that sometimes appears before the game, I don't see anywhere to even LOOK AT the controls, let alone change them (xbox).

So what about a player determines his fitness? I'm playing with Bolton right now. My forwards and midfielders generally stay fit. Defense is a different story. John Arne Riise at LB (man was he a great buy) stays fit for all my games. Radhi Jaidi is fit for 3/4 of my matches. But Gonzalo, a 22 year old RCB rated at 83 defense and a buy I was proud of, is 70-something or under after a match, despite having the same stamina rating as Jaidi (83). I don't get it. My fitness coach is up to 3 stars though so maybe it will improve. But I'd like to know if I can tell if a player will be fit more often than not. By the transfer window I think I will have enough to pick up Rooney but I'm not really interested if I can only use him every other match . . .

I have no fitness problems as I concentrate many of my points on FITNESS...my fitness level is now 2...though my striker, mid, defence,gk and scout are also all level 1
