Outstanding from AVB and co to snap up Holtby on a free. Just how bad does that make our owners look, having rejected AVB in the summer?!

Elsewhere, Joke Hole and Chamakh have signed for West Ham on a free and loan deal respectively. Funny story - Liverpool had to pay Joe Cole an approximate 3 million to terminate his leftover 18 month contract.

Don't get Big Sam's obsession with opposition deadwoods though - signed Carroll and Benayoun (who's back at Chelsea now) on loan earlier this summer, now he pulls it off again with Joe Cole and Chamakh!

Giuseppe Rossi (Villarreal) -> Fiorentina [ €11M + €5M in bonuses]

Wow, this winters transfer market looks very promising.

Ha another Yellow Submarine becomes a Viola, following the footsteps of Gonzalo and Borja Valero. Hope they can keep hold of Jovetic now.

Does that imply Jovetic is on the move?

No, I highly doubt Fiorentina will sell him in this transfer window, but in the summer it will most likely happen.

Jan Kirchoff - Mainz to Bayern Munich. :cool:

Don't know anything about him. I expect his stay at Bayern to be as eventful as Schladraff's, Baumjohann's, and Borowski's.

He is a CB and quite good at it. Won't be surprised if he gets playing time and a good amount of it. Van Buyten will leave. Badstuber will not be fully fit at the start of the season and Boateng has his ups and downs. All the others you mentioned we're midfielders and they did not have the right coach at the time. As hard as it is to believe now until late it was almost impossible for young talent to succeed at Bayern.

Wasn't Borowski an international?

edit: On wiki it says he had 26 appearances in 1 season at Bayern ...

Joined on a Bosman, played one year (several sub appearances), then got sold back to Bremen.
