I was also the only one to fawn over Courtois when he moved to Atleti, KDB when we were only just getting linked to him, Max Kruse when he was at Freiburg and Trapp at Frankfurt (all of whom were in rubbish leagues or playing for bottom feeders (like Bannan) and will not be starters/stars for CL clubs so that is great example.

My valuation of Bannan was that if he kept improving he could be the British Iniesta, but he never did, so he never was. It was clearly a mistake and I was very disappointed because he had excellent technique and vision but also had clear character issues. (Btw, note that the British Iniesta label was not mine, he was very hyped by Scottish pundits).

It seems like we are going to be signing a CB. The list supposedly went: 1. Stones (not gonna happen), 2. Garay (please no), 3. Abdennour (sold). I know little about Abdennour but I figured he'd be the safest choice. Now I can see us paying tonnes of cash for Garay which is going to be a great big shame.
