Tottenham are concerned they won't be able to keep their best players or attract/fund marquee signings to compete with their title rivals; shouldn't you be?

Spurs will keep a good number of their best players. Most of them are not going to pay insane prices for their British players while Kane and Alderweireld apart most aren't exactly worth paying crazy money for either imo. Its mostly down to Poch. If Alderweireld goes though they'll find it hard to replace him for sure. That said Spurs aren't title rivals. They just don't have it in them to win it as a club and neither do they have the resources to compete.

As for us, tomorrow is the meeting and a lot will depend on what will happen in it. If Wenger stays or not, Alexis, Ozil and if we'll spend to strengthen to the max. I'm not really all that concerned these days since what is the point. Its out of my control. We'll find out if it is worth being concerned soon enough.

Yeah my point is I think Tottenham are far more likely to keep their stars than you are, and I also can't see who you're gonna sign, wenger or no wenger. you still have a miserly wage structure, reluctance to offer big money and no champions league to offer. you'll just be left with the players other clubs don't want.

They've always been amongst the smartest teams in football:

90's: Wenger (still the Professor), Tigana, Weah, Thuram, Klinsmann, Djorkaeff, Henry, Trezeguet, Barthez, Sonny Anderson, Petit, Riise.

00's: Deschamps, Guidolin, Puel, Evra, Giuly, Rafa Marquez, Morientes, Maicon, Menez, Abidal, Yaya Toure.

10's: Ranieri, Carrasco, Aubameyang, Romero, James, Kondogbia, Kurzawa, Martial.

Class of Jardim is just following suit, being sold at market premium / premiership prices.

I would so so so so so so much prefer it if we were dumping that money on him rather than lukaku. If anyone pays more than 60m for lukaku this window when aumbemayang went for the same it will be a disgrace.

PSG close to PEA. 61m.
Why do they need him? Unless they're moving from 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2, or better yet a 3-5-2?

Lukaku is better
He probably will be in 3 years when he's 27, like Aubameyang is now.

Check out this Whoscored analysis piece via Sky Sports: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10827839/suarez-aubameyang-kane-lukaku-costa-who-is-the-worlds-best-striker

The numbers have Auba winning over Lukaku right now.

Who knows tbh. Looks more like a 4-2-2-2 sort of with inverted playmakers.

I'm not the biggest fan of Di Maria as an inverted winger. I think it's because he has no right foot, and that irks me for some reason. Bigger problem with the 4-2-2-2 variation is Verratti and Matuidi in a two-man midfield covering for Draxler's less than stellar defensive shifts.

A 4-3-1-2 variation might also be interesting, but it arguably exacerbates the Di Maria problem.

I agree. I like Aubameyang better. More mobile, faster, more skilful. Lusaka never delivers in the big games.

flat track bully, doesn't influence games, inconsistent and getting worse, doesn't score decisive goals or big match goals, lazy, doesn't know how to improve. I'd rather have benteke...
