Contact termination?

I thought if you didn't reach your goals in career-mode (get at least 1000 points), your contract wouldn't be renewed. Well, I finished 15th with Palermo & only got 200 points for my positive goaldifference, but I was offered a new 1 year contract and my prestige-points for the second season went up from 1000 to 1500!! Same happened with AS Roma, where I only managed 800 points! What is the use of the contract and goals you have to reach when it seems it doen't bloody matter!!!

Anyone knows the answer? Do you get a new contract all the time, even if you f**k up your goals....

As to the topic-yeah it doesn't seem to matter, I find 5 seasons plenty, especially since after 2 seasons the game's bloody boring.
