Continue Career mode after editing

I know this has been discussed before, but I am wondering if there is a way to, for example, install the latest version of the Career Expansion pack, and then continue an existing career. Surely there is a way of editing the manager mode saved game file, and making it compatible with a new fifa.db file. The Career Expansion pack is such a great patch, and there will be such great updates coming for it in the future, but each time there is a tiny update, every career is spoiled. This is the one thing, that for me, spoils all the great editing everyone does.

I know this has been discussed extensively, but i was just wondering if there is any hope.

Is the reason why the roster/transfer situations? Is that why a new patch corrupts an existing career?

Yep, I think that is exactly the reason it corrupts. The current career database has no idea what to do with the newly introduced created or transferred players.
