It's interesting that this selection inspired more good will from the brazilian fans than the one made before the world cup. There are a lot of players in it which Brazil puts a lot of faith and some of them were ignored by Dunga.

For those who don't follow brazilian football, here is how the selection was done:

A bunch of player of olympic age
Another bunch who will probably end up in the WC 2014
A few remaining players from Dunga's team
Some Dunga players were left out for preservation. Will be called later.

I included him in parenthesis because he wasn't called up by Dunga, but I'd say he's better than Juan, and definitely qualifies as a great player who wasn't called up to this squad, which was what I was listing.

I hope he wasn't called up for the same reason the others weren't, or because of his injury.

well if it was anything, it would have to be because of the injury ...

Alex may deserve a call-up and a chance, but I don't think he matches the calibre of the "best players" you listed (clearly I think it is laughable at the moment to consider him as such; may be not so in the future) ...

it is unclear on what basis you are judging Juan, but again I think you are wrong ...

and anyway, Thiago Silva is better than both ... if I were grooming a combination for the next World Cup, I'd have him starting alongside David Luiz ...
