converting 2gf face to 1gf

can anyone please tell me how to convert a 2gf face to 1gf so that i can add fifa 08 players to fifa 06/fifa wc 06? i converted bmp to fsh by resizing it from 512*256 to 256*128. when i open the game and see in <edit player> option, he is seen in red and green patches.what is the exact step by step process?
