Argentina lost...I am not making excuses I just wanted to sate this isn't our strongest team.

And Mauricio....

"Really? you dont live in mexico, I do, i know a lot more mexicans than you, so that opinion has no background so if u are goign to say sth please be sure first if not please dont put adjetives to us mexicans "

How about you get a clue about what you are talking about? You think El Pato is just as good as Placente and Cavallero. Placente is a defender for crying out loud. :kader:

As for you SnYper...how can you say Cavallero is trash? He is our #1 keeper and started at the World Cup for a reason. He is a good GK, and will start in the 06 Cup. The boy has skills, Bielsa is just trying out Abbondanzieri, to see If he is any good.

Oh about the placente thing i didnt mean that i just copy the text and forgot to deleted it but El pato is better than Cavallero or at least si nin the same level

Argentina didnt have the strongest team nor Mexico so we were in the same conditions so the win is valuable and historical

You've probably never watched Celta Vigo play so how can you defend him. I've seen him play with Celta and completely suck. He is garbage and played a minor role in Celta's relegation. Don't defend Bielsa, he has proven he doesn't know how to choose the best 11 in that very same world cup. Burgos should've been selected ahead of Cavallero at the World cup as he played very well during qualifying.

I'd rather have a goalie who is a proven winner in net and can actually stop penalties. He's a beast at penalties whereas Cavallero would be lucky to stop 1 out of 10.

Like I said, I'm a River fan so the obvious would be for me to make a case for Costanzo or Lux, but i'm being realistic in realising Pato is the man who should be in goal.

And some advice, stick to cheering for Peru.(Y)

Why is it so had to get rid of Bielsa? Is it because there are no candidates for the spot or what? Too many years too many failures. What's up with that?

From what i've heard, the Argentinian FA doesnt have money to break Bielsa's contract, because as you people know they would have to pay a fee to do that, and it looks like this fee is kinda astronomical.:crazyboy:

Bielsa would've been fired but Jose Pekerman turned down the job. Grondona wasn't interested in any other candidates at the time(Bianchi was with Boca) so his only move was to make no move.;)

Grondona has already stated that if for any reason new coach is needed Bianchi will be the next coach.

I have watched him play, many times actually. He i snot garbage. He had class games in each of the three WC games he was in.

Bielsa selected the best, they just didn't produce. Bielsa gots bashed for WC disaster but doesnt get credit for WC Qualifying in which Argentina only lost ONE game.

Burgos is a damn good GK, and I was shocked when he didn't start, but Cavallero has skill. And when has Burgos ever proven he is a winner in the net and he can stop PKs?? Burgos started 8 out of the last 9 quaalifiers. He didnt start the first 9, as Bonano started 8 of those. Cavallero started those other 2 BTW. Burgos is a good GK, but I knoow alot of fans who dislike him. I really like El Mono and I would like to know why he didnt start. Injured?

Some advice for you...dont tell me what to do. You think your opinions are superior then mine when they aren't.

What the hell? Bielsa selected his best? Please stop the stupidity. Crespo who led qualifying in scoring was left on the bench so Batistuta could go out there and do nothing. Crespo played 15 minutes in the entire tournament and matched Batistuta's scoring tally.

Best? Why was Caniggia selected ahead of Saviola who had already proven himself worthy enough to be on the national team. Caniggia, hahaha, maybe if this were 1994 i'd understand.

Veron ahead of Aimar. Again, are you kidding me. Veron sucked for large periods at a time with United while Aimar shined with Valencia.

Burgos wasn't starting because Bielsa was ignorant. Burgos played excellent for Atletico Madrid prior to the world cup but was cast a side so a pajero could go in net. Sure Cavallero didn't cost us any games but he didn't have any work. He let in a penalty and a FK goal. The rest of the games were spent failing in our attack.

The failure of the national team didn't start at the world cup, but before it when we drew with Wales and then a J-league side in a pre tournament friendly. Playing an entire tournament looking for crosses against European defenders who are taller then your traditional south american defenders has to be one of the stupider stragegies i've seen a "world class" coach carry out.

You base your comments on a blurred image of the national team. If you thought Bielsa did a good job wait until Bianchi takes over and leads the team to success.

Please, don't offer me any of your advice as it is completely useless.(Y)

The only mistakes Bielsa made where picking Caniggia over Savy, and picking Husain over Riquelme.

Veron and Aimar switched on and off and Aimar started the game vs Sweden.

Crespo played more than 15 mins alone in the Sweden match. In fact I believe he played 75 mins total. Bielsa should have started Bati and Crespo up top and gone with a 3-5-2.

Cavallero was a hero in the Nigeria game and did awesome against England except for the PK, which keepers dont usually save anyway.

Maybe If Bianchi ever takes over Ill say who is better but that doesnt look to happen as Bielsa is still the coach.

You are just saying things, and you have no clue of what you are saying. :kader:

Your thick and don't seem to be getting the point. We have an incompetent coach and that is the end of the story. No coach makes the ridiculous decisions Bielsa makes and survives.

Bielsa needed to grow some balls like Scolari did with Brazil in leaving out Romario and later on with Portugal dumping all players who didn't perform after the first game in Euro 2004.

End of story. I know I'm right and the majority of the country feels that way. We certainly don't need a peruvian telling us otherwise.

This thread was not intended to discuss this topic so I'll leave it at that and since the game was a few days ago, this thread shouldn't be used. If you have the urge to continue, visit the spanish forums.

Minus

Reserve Team
I dont know if its kinda late to post this with everyone gettin of subject and whatnot but I feel we won couse Argentina couldnt fucc wit our defense(it is what it is), I mean Marquez and Torrado were great. Oswaldo had a quiet night wit Argentina having like 3 shots that should've been a goal. All in all the the first tweenty minutes of both halfs were all Argentina. If it wouldnt have been for the Brisino injury I think Bautista would've probably added one more goal to the lead.

jacaré

Youth Team
yeah that is true rafa marquez had saviola defended well that is mexicos strong point i think their defence but they need to work on their attacks imo they had 3 runs with only a defender and the keeper but argentina missed alot of chances too so it evens out

I'm thick? You are one to talk. You throw out stupid facts and then when I prove you wrong you don't even mention them. :kader:

So you give Scolari props for leaving out Romario, but bash Bielsa for leaving Savy? How does that work? :kader:

You aren't right. Your opinion cannot be right, because it is an opinion, not a fact. If you were right he wouldnt be the coach right now. I know the majority of the people in Argentina feel that way but I don't and I am sure there are some that agree with me, even though they aren't the popular voice. Bielsa is a good coach, he got us 1st place last preliminaries, and this time we are in 2nd. We just bombed out in the World Cup in the hardest group. He is doing a fine job. Give him another WC, and watch how we do.

BTW, why do you call me Peruvian? That isn't all I am. I was born in Argentina..dads Argentinian, mom is Peruvian...moved to Peru for a couple years then moved to USA, which is where I am until today. That is why I like all three teams. :kader:
