Copyright on 2GK...

I have published the whole files on my site with the 2GK technique, I have written to Ariel Santarelli asking to be able to publish them and he has given me the authorization. Every time that I have published a file 2GK I have attached a readme.txt where the address there was email of Ariel and its site. The new technique of the double sleeves to 32bit is interesting but it is not 2GK. When a player is framed in the foreground in the files 2GK is possible to also read dwarfish writings, kits can be created very detailed (256x256). it is correct to have the copyrights on the 2GK idea, but I believe that the holders of illegal copies of FIFA are more of those that use the 2GK. I believe is more correct, as it says "lukas_svoboda" to create a program that installs the kits 2GK and on that to put the copyright or the shareware. Also because whoever can edit the texture.big, Ariel is not the best editor of the world, also I could copy the your 2GK and to call it HDK (High Definition Kits), also changing a solo other parameter inside the file. And then thing happens? Do The authorities come to house and they put me in the jail? With which tests? Is Ariel authorized to modify the texture.big and me no? Is there an official document of the EA Sports to respect?
Personally I am creating an utility that inserts the kitses inside FIFA2002, I don't earn there a penny and the same I am happy, because I know that so many impassioned as me they will be happy to use it.

Yes, I have the email in my PC, EA knows about us and they allow us to modify the game because they are aware that sites actually help them promote the game specially in latin american countries were there is absolutely no feedback from EA.

I think there was probably some misunderstanding as to what you and Ariel were trying to copyright. I can understand you wanting to copyright your website, there's nothing wrong with that at all.

I also support you ASKING people to give credit where credit is due. I'll admit that I didn't give any credit to Ariel when I released my Canada Super-Patch last year with 2GK kits.. but I was new to the patchmaking scene and didn't have a good idea of who was responsible for what. If, like you say, credit was a little more widespread last year, it would've been easy for me to figure out all the do's and don'ts and include credit. You can be sure that I'll include credit in my new Canada Super-Patch.

I think you might've been taking a bit of heat for some comments you've made which might be better left 'in-house'. Seems like there's been some issues between yourself and others, but stuff like who stole which files/website revenues/etc.. is 'dirty laundry' which the forums probably aren't the best place to air out.

I'm not party to any of it, and I'm not taking sides at all, but your comments did come off as a bit of finger pointing at 'those who've done you wrong' and (to me anyway) felt akward. I work hard on the Canada Super-Patch for myself and for other Canadian fans (of any nationality!). Now that's probably pretty small by your's and Ariel's standards, but I still work hard and don't get paid a dime for my work. Why do I do it? 'cause I want to... like everyone else who makes patches. I like getting emails letting me know that other people appreciate my work, but I understand if they don't. Lord knows I've downloaded lots of patches and never sent an email to the patchmakers...

socceraccess.com is a great site, but if you put the same kind of energy into the positive promotion of the sites as you did with the "we're not releasing 2GK until we can make everyone give us credit" tactic. You might find the rest of the community a lot more receptive.

Finally, if you've got a letter from EA on your PC, why not post some or all of it here. I'm not calling you a liar, but I for one (and I'm sure many others) would like to see EA's reaction to patchmaking.

cheers.
