CPU/ Amateur?

I started a new tournament and have it set to amateur as I am new to Fifa 2006. First game I played was hard as 2005 fifa's pro level. They other team "cpu controlled" is super fast and hard to get the ball from. What am I missing here? How to I set it so it is an easy level so I can learn for a season or two then up to pro or semi pro?

Thanks

So far the cpu team players always get up to my players and steal the ball away from me. I can never get close enough to get off a shot. :(

I hope 2007 is better and has more features.

I remember in 2005 version they let you set lines easy. I tried to now and can not figure out how to change out the center before I start the game. Also what is the best line set to play?

Thanks

I am but it just seems fake when I have a front of guys at 99 and 94 for speed and the cpu players are 54 and 61 are staying up with me. Not to realistic. :(

I do the ball handel button and they still steal it from me very easy.

Two suggestions. Defensively, learn to use the marking button (ie. press and hold conservative tackle) to control and tackle the CPU players. When in possession don't try and run past the opposition but let the ball do the work by passing it around to create openings.

Ok will try that out. What is the best line to use? 4-2-1? Also what is the best to do for cornner kicks? I always kick them and then head butt out of bounce. :(

Thanks

Depends, mostly on your personnel. I have had success with a vanilla 4-4-2 (where I had two decent strikers), 4-3-2-1 (where I had a dominant striker plus two others that were better than my midfielders) and 4-1-2-1-2 (where I had a CAM who was the best player on the team). Primarily it is a question of adapting your style of play to the formation you choose and what the opposition are doing.

Practice to learn how hard you have to hit the ball to get it to land in particular areas of the eighteen yard box, and then practice some more to learn how to create a little space for the receiver so that they have a chance of making a decent header. Finally, practice some more to learn how to angle the header to give you the best chance of beating the keeper from any particular location

I'm currently playing on Semi-Pro mode and I finished in the MLS my first season 10-11-12 (out of a 33 game season). I recommend just sticking with a difficulty if it is challenging. The challenge really makes the game worth while, I had a blast all season just trying to keep my job. Career mode is 15 season and I think you can go beyond that even if you want, you have plenty of time to fare through your career to build clubs and eventually dominate your chosen league after building a team. Also, I think its best to also start with a less talented club as starting with a successful team can really muck up the finances come re-signing time.

plus you're new to the game, eventually you'll get the hand of it and you'll know how to properly defend, work midfield and attack. I lost the first 5 games of the season but by the end of the season I was winning every other game.

Try playing against friends that have not played before. Even if you were on world class difficulty in 2005 usually you have to go back to amatuer the next year so just keep trying.

Ok, I also see they got rid of the arrow for penalty kicks. I have made a few by moving the man up down and left right but it had an arrow in 2005 for aming. Is there a way to turn on an arrow or a trick to making more goals?

AlsoI have a Microsoft sidewinder for controller. I have the ball and they get next to me so I hit the button for ball move is there a better way to push off the defender and break free?

Also on break away goals I sometimes shoot wide or right to the goalie and he stops it. How do you aim the shot?

Thanks
