Croatia-Turkey:friendly match [P]+[R]

theCRO

Senior Squad
Friendly match in Zagreb between the 3rd placed teams of the last two world cups.

Turkey comes in missing a few players and desperate to start off with a win under new coach. Croatia, coming off an unlucky friendly loss to Germany will hope to bounce back and get Euro preparations under way despite a handful of injuries.

The Croatian probable lineup.

------------------Pletikosa----------------

----Simic---------Tudor---------Simunic----

-----------Leko-----------Zivkovic---------
-Srna----------------------------------Rapaic---
--------------------Rosso-----------------------

-----------Sokota------------Prso-------

injured
Ivan Klasnic (Werder Bremen)
Kranjcar(Dinamo Zagreb)
maybe Tudor(Juventus)
and Robert Kovac (Bayern Munich)

How is Turkey looking for this one?

I heard he missed a whole heap of chances for Benfica last weekend against Alverca...hopefully he puts them away tommorow :)

Here is the line-up for Turkey.

Türkiye: Rüþtü, F. Akyel, Tolga, Ý. Toraman, Deniz, Gökdeniz, S.Balcý, Ümit Özat, Tuncay, Nihat, Hakan

Turkish side is full of young players, no more Sas or Ilhan, welcome to Tuncay, Gokdeniz, I.Toraman.....

We don't have a new coach yet , ;) I think the assistant coach is managing the team till we find some one.

I hate predicting matches, I am not good at it and I am not going to predict anything. Just hoping a good result for Turkey. ;)

Youth Team
Both teams have great chances to win. Although Emre (Inter) is a great loss for Turkey.
The last official matches of Turkey weren't really good (friendy losses, not qualifying for EURO2004), but they have skilled team.
Croatia, I think, tries to get their performance of WC98. They have some really good players (Zivkovic, Prso, Tudor)...

So my prediction:

Croatia 1-1 Turkey
(Goals: Prso; Sukur)

Cya !

Is Hamit Altintop in the squad?

I think we will win 2-1 but I hope to see some entertaining play.

Our coach screwed up and we have no central, or offensive midfielder in the entire squad for this game, Kaiserslautens Bjelica or Malaga's Ivan Leko would be ideal for a run, but Herr Otto has other ideas.

Giovanni Rosso is not the imaginative, tough "Boban-like" player we need in the middle, he just has a cool name :)
