Crouch showing his creativity against Trinidad

Limberopoulos21, well put, I completely agree.

He's only at the WC for the aerial dimension. Up until the Rooney injury, Crouch wasn't considered a starter. However, having Crouch on the bench was a good option if England are chasing a game because you can play more direct football.

Owen and Rooney are the best partnership. The counter argument is how can you drop a player who's in such good scoring form?

Oh, come on. Can you honestly think a tug on his hair is a foul? It's tame. At least with a shirt pull you're impeded. A yank on the dreadlocks is nowt. I bet he didn't even feel it.

heh I actually didn't saw the tug on hair.. :-paul:

If they wanted somebody who was good in the air they should have taken Kevin Davies, at least he doesn't resort to little-girl tactics like hair-pulling.

England haters?......don't ya just luv 'em :funny:
I don't think there'd be haters if they would win convincingly and/or aesthetically. I want England to do well, it makes the tournament more fun to watch! Crouch is no fun to watch, I'd rather see Owen, Rooney, etc.

btw, right before that goal my dad goes, "this is the dangerous one here," refering to Beckham. Beckham is the best thing England have going for them.

To be fair though, if Owen had played at all in the last 6 months and was fit, and if Rooney had not have missed so much football because of his broken toe, Crouch would maybe never have made the squad. Striker wise, we are having to make do unfortunately. So with those considerations in mind, you will see that there are pretty good reasons why our strikeforce are performing below par. Right there is also a good reason why the tactics we are having to adopt at the moment, are also a bit unconvincing.

Thats OK though, you won't hear us moaning about that. We've had some unlucky breaks, excuse the pun, building up to this World Cup, so we have just got to get on with what we've got. As the games go on we are just hoping that Owen and Rooney can capture some match fitness and hopefully sharpen up. If not, too bad. Thats the way it goes. It's not the end of the world.

That big goofus stold the robot celebration from SWP who did that against Man U when he scored a blazer when he played for Man C.

F*ck that proves even more that TNT would've deserved a draw.

For keeping 10 men in the box for 90 minutes? Nah I dont think so. Any team who wants to play that negative deserve NOTHING at all. Of course I understand WHY they played like that but surely its better to go out there with all guns blazing and at least make a game of it. Maybe they would have got hammered, but they lost anyway so those tactics did them no favours at all in the end did it?.....I feel sympathy for the squad though because we see these guys every week playing in England and they are honest hardworking players and its impossible NOT to like them.

I suppose Carlos Warner has removed them from his A list now that they have served their purpose for him, i.e. made him more money than he has already fiddled. Fu<kin' crook.

I agree with you... they're playing negative football and that sucks...

But they did create some 2-3 dangerous situations, and one of them could have been a goal... and England, altho playing a more positive football, they didn't do much to deserve the victory! Their performance was very weak...
