go to the match mode set it as manual, exit the match mode it will save your settings in option file. next time you play online it will be manual if you saved it as manual, the same with camera view or any other settings
Errr...i have played several games in online mode and manual switching works fine. I don't know what your problem is with this. It works as Dreamer says. My camera was off when i first played, as i played online before I played against the CPU, but when I had changed it for offline play, it was as it should be for online.

Autoswitch at online is getting ridiculous.
Even in the game when I locked up manual player’s switching, game still force me to pick up player at cpu taste. In online mode this feature is completely idiotic and frustrating.
Next patch must fix auto change in online.

ummmm, i always play in manual mode so this is saved into my profile, yet when i go online, suddenly it is auto-switching
oooh, hurrrah, just about to clear the ball off my goaline when the game decides it's a good time to switch control to my centre forward standing 5 f*cking miles away....
the on-line mode is utterly pathetic...it's like they bashed some basic code together in an afternoon and said "yeah, that's good enough"....
....the lag is laughable on a 512k connection - i press the shoot button and 3 months later, the player swings his f*cking leg....it's like a frigging time warp back to 1984 computer technoolgy....
net-code = 0 out of 10...they tried...they failed

Alright dude, if that's the case then a bunch of us are obviously doing something wrong. I've had Manual switching set in my profile since I first played the game; it's saved in the option file info, yet I've never had manual switching when playing online. Maybe there's some lucky thing you did that set it, but most of us have not been able to pull it off.

are you sure you have full "manual ONLY" switching. On auto-switching, you can still manually switch to another player, but the program will also inconveniently switch for you too. Full manual switching should prevent the program from ever auto-switching....this is not happening on-line for me.

i think line-ups, etc will be reset to default for on-line play - this is to prevent people doing things like editing players stats to be much higher and getting up to other high-jinx

Ah, ok, perhaps that's the case. However, I have my offline game settings set to manual, and when I play online I didn't notice anything different. You could be right, but as i say, I didn't experience any kind of auto switiching that made the game more difficult for me. Maybe I'm just a crap player though?!

I noticed that even on manual in off-line games the cursor changes automatically sometimes, usually when the CPU gives a long pass.
Unfortunately on-line it does it with any kind of pass.
I really don't understand the logic of programming behind this. The on-line auto-switch is clearly a bug that should be fixed. I label it under bad programming. But the off-line switch is just bad decision making. If you have a slider for manual/auto pass with about 10 different settings on it, then you make the manual completely manual! Right?!!?
I think it's the same kind of flaw as defenders who sometimes make decisions for you, like clearing the ball in hazardous situations. It was there in PES3 and it's still in PES4. For me that's just plain wrong for 2 reasons. First, If I don't clear the ball and the opponents scores as a consequence then I deserved that, because I didn't play very well. I don't want a helping hand. Second, often clearing the ball just isn't the best way. A simple pass to a defender near the side line is much better!
