Beckham isnt a spiritual leader, IMO...

And in England NT he shouldn't be in the starting line up...again IMO...

He is excellent in the free kicks, corners, and long passes, but that isnt enough for a supposed World Class midfielder...

maybe u should move to other country where they provide spanish la liga matches (@ television)

honestly i think he is back and what i hopes right now is he can stay free from injury for the whole year.

Heh, Fergie wasn't kidding when he said Becks was the best passer of the ball in Europe in our treble winning year. (H)

Distant memory though...

Luxemburgo hails Beckham's best Real game

Real Madrid coach Wanderley Luxemburgo poured lavish praise on David Beckham following the England captain's man-of-the-match performance in last night's 2-1 victory over Olympiacos.

Beckham set up Madrid's first goal - scored by Raul in the ninth minute - and sent over another 30 telling crosses later in the contest, most of which his team-mates managed to spurn.

Madrid needed a late winner from substitute Roberto Soldado to seal the win, their first in the Champions League this season, but Luxemburgo preferred to single out Beckham for adulation.

'Beckham has been playing well for a long time,' said Luxemburgo. 'This is not the first time he has played really well.'

Luxemburgo was frustrated to see his side waste a series of golden opportunities in the first half.

'I said at half-time that we had let them off,' he added. 'The truth is we should have finished the game in the first half because we had six or seven chances.

'If you want to win you can't let people off - you have to be positive.'

Olympiacos coach Trond Sollied agreed with his counterpart that Beckham had been the decisive factor in the game.

'Our tactic was very simple - get so close they couldn't get any service,' he said.

'We succeeded with Roberto Carlos, but we couldn't get close to Beckham.'

Raul became the leading goalscorer in Champions League history before Pantelis Kafes levelled just after the break.

Soldado grabbed a much-needed win for the Spaniards in the 86th minute, while Sergio Ramos was dismissed for retaliation in stoppage time.

However, Lyon remain top of Group F after defender Cris scored the only goal of the game away at Rosenborg.

Artmedia Bratislava pulled off the result of the night by coming back from 2-0 down to seal a 3-2 victory at Porto.

The home side went ahead with first-half goals from Lucho Gonzalez and Diego but Peter Petras gave the Slovakians hope on the stroke of half-time.

Jan Kozak then equalised for the Champions League new boys in the 54th minute, but worse was to come for Porto, winners of the competition just two years ago, with Balazs Borbely converting a remarkable winner with 14 minutes remaining.

Fenerbahce earned their first points with a convincing 3-0 win over 10-man PSV Eindhoven in Group E.

Alex opened the scoring with a 39th-minute penalty, shortly before Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink was shown his second yellow card. A second from Alex and a late goal from Stephen Appiah wrapped up the win.

AC Milan are still top of Group E, though, despite being twice pegged back by hosts Schalke in a 2-2 draw.

Clarence Seedorf and Andriy Shevchenko scored for Milan while Soren Larsen and Hamit Altintop grabbed the equalisers.
