New version of F2K6DUMP has just this minute been shipped out to Dave (Exerslow), Chris (firefan98) and Brian (Hambo, if he's lurking here as well as the official FIFA 06 forums).

Ockham I'll let you have a copy just as soon as I get an email address for you. I'm assuming that you will be running it against your latest database and therefore there is no point in my giving you the full list of errors generated by the latest version against firefan98's data files.

In addition to various inconsistencies in the CEP data and derived careers there are a raft of messages about unknown shift characters (I map all multi-byte accented characters to their base ASCII equivalent to make it easier to search the CSV files for players) and several related to country ids and names for league entries. The latter are generally not errors in the CEP data, and I will look at mapping out the discrepancies (as I already do for a fair few other variants in the original databases) and the former I will need to fire up the game with a CEP patched database and check out the characters concerned in the team management screens. Both will be fixed in the next release, but don't expect it to appear as quickly as this last one (I haven't played Oblivion in a week, and have both a visit to the in-laws and a cricket match this weekend)

Those last two lines are written by the batch file, which has checked the return code from the program and found a non-zero result. Each error has a unique code associated with it, and because of all the issues with the CEP databases you are not going to get a clean end result. You can either just ignore the message or update the batch file to issue a different message for negative errorlevels (if the final return code is a negative value lower than -1000 then only warnings have been issued, or any errors accepted because of the 't' switch). Unfortunately, because I use 4NT rather than CMD.EXE, I can't supply any example code since the error checking in my own batch files uses 4NT features like IFF and %? which do not translate directly to CMD commands.

With a return code of -13405 it will have run to completion and generated all the output (unless you get earlier errors about writing to the CSV files - I let those pass since I got fed up with not getting the HTML output simply because I'd forgotten that I'd got the CSV file open in Excel, which locks it such that it can't be updated). I'm glad that it matches your career, because some of it certainly looked odd to me, but then I'm not familiar with the additional leagues that the CEP provides. Feel free to let me have any feedback on the content of the HTML files (or the CSVs come to that) whether they be related to layout, content, or things that you'd like to see that aren't there (and that applies to the other recipients too).

I'm down to my last two matches in career year 4, Champions League Final v. Deprtivo La Coruna and FA Cup Final V Charlton. I clinched my first Premiership title with a scoreless draw at Anfield coupled with a Cheslea defeat at Everton with three EPL games remaining. I can taste the treble

Do you keep backups of your data files at season's end?? If so, don't forget that you can run F2K6DUMP against those backup files too - just point the output switch at a different directory and the career file switch at your backup data file, and there are your historical stats (I do this all the time, taking a backup copy of the manager file before the last game of each season, and then updating my reports from past seasons whenever I make significant improvements to the output from F2K6DUMP).
