Defensive and Fatigue tips

Hi, new here, just got PES 5 a couple days ago, after wasting my money on WE9 only to find out konami actually car about the WE9 folk. Anyway I'm having a blast for the most part especialy playing the master league, which is deep, just a few questions though.

1. What do you guys do to play defense, it seems my defenders are complete retards, like playing to far up after my team has scored a goal, or not marking players in corner situations, and basically things like that. I currently play with 4 in the back and the usual lineup for me left to right is:

Ruskin Jaric Iouga Valeny

2. Also how do you manage your players through out the season for fatigue and things like that. It seems even though the initial players you get are supposed to suck, their conditioning is unrealistcly bad. Like you'll win 3 or 4 games in a row and then drop 2 or 3, because everyone is recovering.

Thanks

1. Dunno about defending sorry. I've never had problems with it.

2. The fatigue system is horribly screwed. I just got rid of it completely by using PESFan Editor 5 to change all players Stamina to 99 and their Condition to 8.

Where might I get PES fan editor?

just search "PESFan Editor 5" in google and it should be the first link. As far as defending, you have to remember that in this game, it's always up to you personally to mark the players. if the computer passes the ball, switch to a player that is closest to him. Also try to predict where he will pass and start going in that direction. If you think that he'll run down the wing or through pass it down the wing, don't rush at him but backup to make sure that you could get the other player covered if the ball is passed to him...hope this helped

depends on what difficulty ur playin but generally, u should run along the guy who is in possession n anticipate where he will pass...if u intercept then perfect, if not switch to player closest and try to make a challenge...i know it will be called a foul most of the time but it pays to know how to overcome that bug...and also master the diving tackle..its important

Plus havin most of the possession helps too u know ;)

Except you can't turn it off in Master League

yeah... I just started a new ML with your idea of making the stamina 99 and conditioning 8... It was really frustrating to have to change players every 2nd game because they're too exhausted.

got fan editor and made the changes to the stats, and yeah you cant turn off the accumalated fatigued in the master league, definetly something to change in the next game, cause at first it seems cool, but then it just kills your players.

Try not to press so much. Of course a player that keeps pressing the whole match gets tired, and that notices in the next match. But there are exceptions, that hardly get tired, Gattuso or Makelele...noticed that, it is superbly well done, and makes you defend not always pressing, but also containing.

^ yeah but the average player should be able to play more than 5 games straight before getting too tired and that's not the case with PES5

Try this (taken from a PES Fan thread):

1. In the master league menu go to the formations list and put all your first team starters in the substitute slots.
2. Now go to next match and when the formation menu comes up put all your first team starters in the team. then after the match all your main players will have no fatigue. it works for me all the time.

It's a tedious process but since fatigue is busted in PES5/WE9 it's the best way around this.

Or just use my way which is the best way around it and isn't tedious. :)
And how realistic would giving ALL players a 99 stamina and 8 conditioning be, not to mention the fact that you can't edit newcomers with the PES Fan editor and they will fatigue quickly anyway?

The fatigue occurs when the players are left in the starting 11 and you go to play the next match for some reason. Players will fatigue naturally if you leave them out of the starting formation and insert them before you start play.

Tedious? Yes. More realsitic? Yes.

Actually for PES5 is not so bad my player get fatigue (half bar) maybe after 4 to 5 matches which is a good thing to me since "I AM FORCE" to rotate them with my other youngster to develop. And normally i will use all my 3 sub during 2nd half at 60min to replace those is tired unless i am playing a very important game then i will play eventhough my player fatigue is at half bar. And from what i see if your player is fatigue and u want to rest them u have to rest them for 2 games straight then they fatigue bar will gone.

Playing Charlton on 6* 2nd season just get promoted to Premier League occupy 2nd 1 point behind Man Utd after 15 games. Out of League Cup at 2nd round after lost to Liverpool =(. My striker Vucinic scored 15 goals top of the chart now hehe.

Btw how fast ur player get fatigue is depend on how u play the game. Like how u control them and ur formation. I notice that if i play a formation with WB that player will get fatigue pretty fast even in the match it will reach red at 70min because for my formation he will run and down the field most of the time. While my striker Vucinic lone striker position at upfront does not help to defense never get fatigue his my first 11 for all the game. I do sub him during midway of the game but i can clearly see him no fatigue problem.

And do not apply pressure all the time when computer has the ball. If u keep control ur player to sprint towards opponent to pressure them when they get the ball then u will tired ur player more.

Actually I just did the 99 stamina and 8 conditioning thing, players still get tired and it is realistic. You get the odd player that will tire out after maybe 5 or 6 games, some get a little fatigue but at least you don't have the whole squad with half their energy gone. This way I get to keep most of my starting 11 on for most games.
