I'm going to start talking about various points that need to be addressed. This may have been said in the "How do you like the DEMO?" thread but I want to talk about specific points and I don't want my thread lost in hundreds of posts. The first thing a am noticing is the poor AI. Especially when the CPU has the ball. EVERY TIME they got a shot on goal it was the same play. One of the midfielders passes a through ball on the ground to a foward who runs on to it and takes a shot. I played 10 matches last night and had to sit through the same halftime highlights fifty times. This is hardly "INDUSTRY LEADING GAMEPLAY", if you know what I mean. Also when you have the ball it is pretty much the same. Our moves may not me scripted but the players off the ball don't move very much at all. I guess the OTB control will help but this is still a major problem.

I have noticed some improvements from FIFA 2003. The player who has the ball moves more naturally and you have to work harder for a pass. I will be buying this game but mainly for the online play. Playing against you guys will take focus away from the dissapointing AI.

but I understand your frustration, just wait for pes3 and you will see the light, leaving the years of suffering behind thou.
believe me your posions will be flushed after playing pes3 and the big Man above will forgive for playing the devils game fifa, Ill do a good word for you.

i'm having second thoughts about FIFA04, specially now that it seems that America's tournament is going to be crap, so I might not get it at all, waiting for the final realease and waiting to see what others say.

The passing is crap sometimes you wanna pass right but it ends up passing to another direction. The turnign is sluggish and thus it affects the direction the guy is facing.

And thanks but I already know about WE/PES, I love those games and I would never compare them w/FIFA.

OTB is a cop out by the programmers, they haven't been able to sort out the AI so they make us do it instead...

Hell, I've got a better idea for OTB v.2 - plug in 2 controllers and make those runs EA can't figure out how to program.

AI has never been Fifa's best features. From the demo, it seems that the AI and the Gk didn't improve much. Maybe it will be different in the final version as I saw someone pointed out that you can't change the difficulty in the demo even when using demo raptor.

This is so funny I can't believe people don't see how bad this game is. All the people who are defending this load of cr*p are the same people making gameplay patches etc. and downloading them. And this is only a demo, since when do poeple make gameplay patches for demos?Give it up PEOPLE! This game is sh*t compared to PES, now that it's gonna be on PC we can edit all the teams and Stadiums etc. so it doesn't matter if they have the licences or not.

I have bought Fifa since 96... This demo have not impressed me at all. I had so high hopes man... Off the ball seems weird. You gotta stand still to make another player move.. no this seem crazy. Game play have improved but it was more like in real in 2003 and the graphics shoul not even be mentioned.

PES3 seems great but serious. A football game with a reffere on the game front?? And the goal celebrations are discusting..

The faces in the demo look great but man the graphic.. I get nightmares of it.. Fifa 2003 was much better. Many say that it´s beacuse it´s a demo on 35 megg.. I reaaaallly hope that.

If not. I will really regret I sold my Fifa 2003...

lol, round this time of year when new the PES and FIFA are released the mods would have to throw 90% of the topics from both forums in there. They're competing games trying to simulate football, comparisons as to what aspects of football each get right and wrong will to be made.

Cosmo, please enlighten us.

in off the ball you dont have to stand still.. you can control both players... it seems to me that most people that complain do so because is fifa.. and dont really get used to the more complicated controls.. that take time to get used to.. whatever works for each I guess.. I am happy with it.. and I think [playing online in this game will be pretty good.
