Exactly: I might add, too, that legitimate threads are started before a match commences, not when the assured result is something one wants to gloat about. Anyway, the English NT thread is buzzing this year, and was used well for this game, so I dont see any reason this shouldnt be locked.SlowSilver said:The only reason he opened this thread was not to discuss the game, but to wind up all the english fans on here.
Besides, the game wasn't even worth anything at all, it was a friendly, therefore making this a pointless thread.
in context, no this thread wasn't really worthwhile, but it's the whole system that i'm questioning ... at first I understand it was implemented to avoid spam or stories being posted too often and give a sense of order to things. But i feel it makes things more confusing, and harder to get your point accross on certain issues ... and to be honest it makes things rather boring.SlowSilver said:The only reason he opened this thread was not to discuss the game, but to wind up all the english fans on here.

all the Soccer forum will end with is loads of official team threads that go on for 100s of pages (it already looks a bit like that to be honest)
that's the whole point of a footy forum isn't it to have a thread about the issue of the game...
going by the system on here the reactions to Denmark v England should be posted in the England thread, the Denmark thread, the ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea threads, the Wayne Rooney thread, the Beckham thread and the World Cup 2006 thread
indeed ... by looking through the titles you'd find out about what was going on all over the place. Plus it also meant people from the outside could be interested by the issue come in and give their advice. The team thread idea has gotten somewhat out of handAberdeenFC said:i agree to the max.
used to be able to look at the soccer forum and find out lots of things in the world game but now you've got to look in everyones official thread to see stuff that would usually have its own thread and quite frankly my dear... i cant be arsed!!
oh dear, i didnt see the game, but if this is true then that might the end of James' carreer as England number 1. Robinson is a great keeper, i doubt he'll start mucking up too.$teauA said:I just saw the goals and it's pretty obvious that the only reason the score was so bad was because of James, all four of the goals were his fault and Rooney's goal in the first half should of been allowed that wasnt a foul.
