Their main channel is called Black Entertainment Television, imagine how much racist remarks would a channel called White Entertainment Television get?

Sorry for bringing this back up but just about everyother channel here is white entertainment television even if it is not called that. Maybe you can explain more if I am not understanding this properly?

Yes USA. My sociology teacher had a much better explanasion for it. He basically stated that the mass media plays basically what the dominent group wants it to play ( the dominent group being white anglo protestant males ). BTW on the topic of mass media, we were watching this tape in class about the rest of kids ( age 6-9 and most were black kids ), there were 2 dolls one that is black and one that is white. They were asked which doll is nicer or which one they like, most of them picked the white doll. When asked which one is bad or they would not like to play with most picked up the black doll. He was stating this as another example of the influence of mass media. This was a very interesting video and it also had some other things in it aswell.
davidcfs - excuse? I dont really see most other channels showing the same kind of drama or movies that BET does, do you?

There are quite a few tv series with mostly black people in it, being played on that same channels as well. I just don't understand why you think that most tv channels in america are pro-white.Help? said:Yes USA. My sociology teacher had a much better explanasion for it. I am not hating black people for creating a channel called Black Entartainment Television, even i watch it sometimes. But a lot of white people in US are becoming soooo obsessed of trying to make the world equal, that some of the disadvantaged people begin to disrespect it and taking advantage of this (mostly young teenagers).
Yes, racism and stereotyping does exist in US, but people work really hard to eliminate this. Don't get me wrong, i live in Canada, which is like the least racist country in the world, so maybe i am missing something, but there really is nothing racist in american tv. I mean you don't see KKK channels do you, nobody would air that ****. Every channel, in Canada at least, tries their best to pay equal attention to all races.
Trequartista said:That's far too subjective and works on a person to person basis. How could you possibly know what emotions that gesture creates without being a fascist yourself?
I consider myself Laziale. It doesn't really make a bit of difference to me or anyone else for that matter that you wouldn't have minded seeing the club go broke. Thanks for your opinion, though. Lazio may be the most hated club in Italy, but so what? People can say what they like about Lazio, call it these oh so clever names, but I'm not a fascist or a racist and I know plenty of fans who aren't either. I stick with my club through thick and thin. Being a fan isn't about supporting the best or most liked club, at least not to me.
lmao first post in awhile to make me actually lol.hermolt said:Are your other 2,104 posts as insightful as that?

So true.
I see that as a problem. I don't think races should be accomadated for, it's like affirmative action on television. You see the same thing in the USA. Companies make sure they use multiple races and ethnicities in commercials. If there was no racism problem, no one would even think about how many white, black, hispanic or asian people they saw on TV. But that's not the case. Companies know this and so they try to represent as many ethnicities as possible to make sure they can capture everyone's interest in their product.Help? said:Every channel, in Canada at least, tries their best to pay equal attention to all races.
