Disconnects at Login (PS2)

I posted this on the EA board, but I thought I would try my luck here as well....Here is my plea for assistance: I have been successfully playing EA's other online sports titles. Now, like so many others, I just purchased FIFA 2004, and despite spending a lot of time on the phone with EA support, Linksys router support, Comcast support and Sony support (as well as seeking the help of a friend who works on networks for a living) I cannot get this game to play online!

It's not that I can't connect to other people, it's that I can't even login. I get through the "connecting to ISP" and "authenticating DNAS data" and then at the login screen, when I click login I always get "Connection Error - You Have Been Disconnected From The Server - Please Login Again".

My original setting was to put the PS2 IP (192.168.1.3) in the DMZ (which works for the other EA titles). This yielded the error.

My second try was to "forward" the ports suggested by the EA phone support guy (TCP ports 10400-10499, 443, 13505 and UDP ports 3568-3569, 6000-6001, 1791-1792, 7777-7778). This got me the error.

My third configuration was to "trigger" the above ports. Same error.

My fourth configuration was to connect the PS2 directly to the cable modem. Same error.

As I tried FIFA with all of these settings and failed, I also tried NCAA with all of these settings and succesfully logged on.

So a few questions: I was under the impression that if I had the PS2’s IP (192.168.1.3) in the DMZ, that I would essentially be opening all ports to the PS2. Is this not correct?

Is there anything you can think of in my basic setup (or advanced setup) that I might need to change? Anything ridiculously obvious that I might be overlooking? Someone told me to run a tracert on the FIFA server, but I don't know what the FIFA server's address is. Does anybody?

A few other things to note - this is my 2nd copy of FIFA 2004 because I returned the first one for an exchange to rule out that I didn't have a bad disk.

Also, I spoke with my ISP (Comcast) and they assured me that they were not filtering the ports needed to play FIFA on their end.

My router is a Linksys BEFSR41, but like I said, it doesnt' even work when I bypass the router and connect directly to the cable modem.

Anyway, if anyone can offer suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Camille
