:( Depressing. What sort of luck is that? If the legs were different, one could at least imagine the injuries were related (Now that makes me think of Deisler...). Just hope he has the mental strength to return anyday.

I remember last time he was saying the doctors saved his leg from being amputated. I hope that they save his legs again, he must have some sort of bone density problem or the way he plays might affect it. I really hope he gets well, so unfortunate to happen 2 days before the WC.

unreal and terrible bad luck. right before the world cup, i couldn't even start to imagine how this feels. my prayers go out to him for a full recovery and to play once again.

You'd have thought if there was anything more than a normal break (such as a congenital bone weakness) it would have been picked up in the extensive medicals footballers get. He'd have also had scans galore following the last injury so they'd have looked at bone density etc

The previous injury, the Blackburn defender stepped on his leg from behind, this one he was off balance and his blades got caught in the turf.

I am very sad to see this, he was a good player and truly does not deserve this. I do pray he returns to football.

yes, I keep hearing on the French news that they are saying Cisse's studs got caught in the pitch and his leg broke as he fell. Wrong, incompetent lot they are.

The leg snapped when the Chinaman wacked it not as he fell :jambo:

As horrible as this injury looks, I think he will recover from it. Larsson did it, Cisse himself did it once, and with no seemingly long term effect after they came back from the injuries...No reason why he shouldn't be optimistic. Among the varieties of injuries, the hardest for sports players to FULLY recover from are knee, cruciate ligament and ankles injuries in my opinion. Just look at Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill in NBA, never the same players again.

It's sad that this happens just before the World Cup is about to start, I feel for him and I hope he recovers as fast as possible, but that pic looks horrible! :nape:

I find it hard to believe that he completly fractured his lower leg cause his cleats got stuck in the turf. Maybe a minor fracture or a sprain but from those pictures above, that looks like a complete break of the lower shin.........Maybe the Chinese defender steped on him or something but thats hard to believe that his cleats got stuck

Anyways I really dont like the guy, but i hope he gets better
