I wonder do you guys choose manual or assisted for shots, pass, through pass, crosses etc. ?

Also, what difficulty do you guys play in? I tried professional at first but god damn, it was hard to score! Then switch to semi-pro, which i pretty much can score about 1 goal each match playing as liverpool against teams like west ham, everton etc.

Thanks in advance.

I like the manual through ball for sure. It gives you so much more creative freedom to make the pass you're trying to make. It also brings in an added element of necessary playing skill that matches a real life challenge: putting the proper weight on the ball.

I'm less sold on manual crossing as it may require a level of precision not able to be achieved with a game pad. Or maybe they just need to fine tune it a little. Neverthless I do like that you can overhit crosses now, another added bit of realism.

One thing I think it still gets wrong (but it's a hard thing to get right) is your ability to score when alone versus the keeper. There's truly alone and there's alone with a guy breathing down your neck, it doesn't seem to have any effect on your ability to slip the shot past the keeper. For the most part, you're usually better off trying to lob the keeper if he comes out. I wish the ability to round the keeper was a little easier, since (when available) that's the easiest thing to do in real life.

I like the "Be a Pro" concept though as the first implementation there were obviously going to be some hiccups. For reasons I don't get, your CPU teammates are a lot worse than your CPU opponents. I guess that's the only way to get the difficulty right, but it is frustrating if you're playing at one of the strikers and the CPU starts waltzing through your defenders in route to the goal. If I wanted to have to make last ditch tackles in the penalty box, I wouldn't have chosen to play as a forward. Also there's occasional camera lag problems where you get the ball but can't see your player briefly. Nonetheless I'm hoping the feature stays and is improved upon.

I really liked FIFA 07 so I'm not at all upset that they didn't change things dramatically. If you have something that works well, why rebuild it completely? I've been starting out on Semi-Pro but have moved on to the next level.
