i dont really believe in marriage. Just a signature to state your love for someone? Yeah right. I love my gf a lot and we dont have to get married to prove our love for each other.... :boohoo:

for legal and economic reasons - judicial protections (or so i gather from law and order
), various tax exemptions, if the partner dies you get automatic inclusion in inheritance and any wrongful death compensation and an official say in whether the parner will be cremated/buried etc... as well as a hell of a lot more social acceptance compared to being 'just togeather', particularly later in lifeif you trust one another why not get married? if you trust your partner, where do these economic problems you talk of come in?

Saying "I'm going to wait for the right person" or "I'm going to wait for marriage" is a horrible idea, because it's setting yourself up to be really disappointed. All you're life you've made it so that if you don't wait you will feel like a failure. I saw a statistic that 88% of teenagers who say they will wait for marriage don't. So 100% of that 88% feel like failures. Additionally, a large percentage of those people are stupid enough to link sex to love, so they get all perversely attached to this person just because their genitals made contact. I've seen it happen, and it makes all your friends hate you for being a whiny drama queen.

Marriage sucks..........one tradition in Arabia, Pakistan, and other muslims countries....well, ALL Muslim countries, is the parents picking theire child's spouse. Now, the child is not forced to marry the person, but we are hearded around like sheep, trying to find the "right" girl.
It is pretty much, "Hi, do you have a virgin my son could marry?" When the answer is yes, the two families meet over dinner, where the two kids introduce each other, and try to get to know each other(imagine trying to talk to a girl when both families are sitting there, waiting for you to do it...the main event). When the two kids agree to tolerate each other, the families strike a deal for marriage,
"We will pay for the house, if you pay for everything inside, and the price of everything inside must match the price of the house"
"Ok fine, we will pay for the house AND we will buy the TV"
"Good, then it is a deal? good, congrats, you two are going to get married next week"
It's bull****, im not going along with it, even if the girl is super hot, how can I talk to a girl knowing she knows that im talking to her only because my parents made me......just because I want to invest in some ass? This is not part of Islam, it is just tradition, in Islam the only law is that you tell the muslim community of the marriage, the parents don't have to agree, and in a girls case, the man must be a Muslim. So **** my parents, and besides, I have not seen one hot Muslim girl in my entire town, and the ones I have seen are sluts, girls who have taken the american dream much farther than any normal american. Of course, I wouldn't dismiss anything until you actually had a chance to see the girl and talk with her, I don't think you should even have to put up that in the first place. I'd be like "no parents, I'm not going to dinner and having you pimp me out." On the off chance you went to one of the dinners, then you should at least try to get to know her if she's hot.
