Does a gamepad make FIFA 2002 better?

No. A sledgehammer and a dustbin make it better.

Yeah, they're too busy riding round on their poxy scooters listening to the Jam.

Listen mate, if you can't take a joke - especially one that hints at a greater truth - how did you survive on the internet until now?

80%, eh?

Surely all these people were once FIFA fans. Doesn't that tell you something quite important about the FIFA series, which is fairly relevant to a FIFA forum?

My Sidewinder went AWOL on me, It never worked to well with FIFA anyway, but now it just wont work on any game, its like the computer thinks it aint there (and yes it is plugged in).

Yes, but wait...

I have always played the Fifa series game with my Game pad Pro, but I would not recommend buying the game pad pro myself, the directional keypad is to small, and I have noticed to go in a certain direction, the very tip of that direction has to be pushed, for example when you want to gu directly up with or lob or similiar half the time the ball goes out of play because I had not pushed the very tip only. Also in the manual I believe it says the the game is designed for controllers like the Logitech Rumblepad Wingman series Because of the analog joysticks. But for me I am so used my Game Pad Pros, I cannot bring myself to switch.

without a doubt, you have to get a gamepad with analogue controllers. being able to pass the ball 360 degrees make such a huge huge difference, especially for those killer through balls! i highly recommend the thrustmaster dual power gamepad . . . this was recommended to me by other users of this forum and it is unbelievably good . . .

ive tried a few different controllers trying to find one i liked with the game.

first, the gravis game pad pro. i had similar problems as the above poster who couldnt get the ball to go in quite the right place due to the insensitivity of the directional pad. also, i often experienced delays in the response of my players to my button pushes.

i also had a thrustmaster firestorm dual analog. this controller worked excellently except for one thing: to get it to work properly one has to redefine the button assignments. this is OK, except when one wants to play an online game. if you are hosting, the button assignments of the other player will sometimes be overwritten. and if someone else hosts, quite often your button assignments will be overwritten.

also, i tried the MS Sidewinder Gamepad Pro. forget it. you cannot reassign the buttons in the control options, and the default settings on this controller are messed up.

finally, and thankfully, i purchased the gravis eliminator aftershock. it works perfectly and has the advantage of the analog control sticks which work great for passing in FIFA.

if you are wanting to buy a gamepad id stick with something Gravis. they seem to be most compatible with the game.

the key to a good fifa2002 pad is definitely whether it has analog control..........this is a must!!!!! - this changes the number of movement directions from 8 directions (digital control) to 360 degree movement.....i think that fifa supports only 16 directions but i really can´t tell the difference...

I used to play keys but after i got an analog controller it really made the game much better.........I play the logitech rumble pad which works great for me..........

and no i´m not working at logitech :)
