Dont buy this game. Keep with Fifa 2002 and wait for the patch makers or face makers and still waiting without buy WC 2002.
So, if the EA sales going down, maybe in FIFA 2003 we have lucky and EA listening to us and make a real gameplay and take in care seriously all the wish list of us. Now EA dont listening, so, if nobody buy the WC2002, maybe we have a chance to be listening.
We are a millons of buyers over the world and we can do something to be listening.

buy pirated? nay, i'll just download it and use daemon tools to play. Won't even be sparing a blank CDR for it. Saw it in the retail shops today selling for around $59.90, I thought, that's a ridiculously ****ing high price for a soccer game... I bought the legit Fifa 2002 6 months ago and have regretted that decision.

If you think about it, only a small fraction of the people who but fifa actually come in here. Their is no way that we can tell millions of peoplenot to buy fifa. The majority dont really care anyway, its just a game to them.
I am going to buy Fifa for editing purposes, and because I have loads of money for my birthday. SORRY!!!
I think EA are taking in what we are saying, but they are just so crap at making good sports games so there is not much we or they can do about it.

foR SURE I Will Buy WorldCup 2002. I like it. Its better than FIFA 2002. maybe its still not a good football simulator. But for a game its almost perfect. with Very good graphic, very good sound, and sensation when made a goal with fireball. even its not realistic but its very much fun for a game. I love to see how the player react after goal. its big impoving from older fifa series. There is many good stuff in this game. I like it more than winning eleven 2000. I can spend much time to playing this game so I Will Buy It For Sure. At least i can make Italy be the World Champion which in real life it seem hard to be.

Even though WC 98 is my favourite FIFA game, all of the games in the series have had at least one major flaw.

In WC 98 and FIFA 98 it was way too easy to run the ball up the wing and cross it in along the ground to score. Also there was a particlar spot that you could stand a player in for a corner and the goal keeper would run out to catch the ball and then change his mind and run back - leaving the goal open for a headed goal.

In FIFA 2000 and 2001 it was way to easy to score with headers and they both played like ping pong, although 2000 was worse than 2001. Also I hated the scripted shots in both games.

Fifa 2002 I also am not happy with because I don't have a gamepad and it is hard to aim kicks with arrow keys.

For its time, WC 98 was the best, even in 2001, but now 2002 is better even though it is still terrible.

I think the FIFA games are too Americanized and that is their main problem. North Americans in general know nothning at all about soccer and have no idea how to make good gameplay. (I think FIFA games are made in Canada - not sure though).

We need a European company to make a good soccer sim or Konami must release their games for PC. I dislike all consoles and emulators.

I am studying IT and Creative Industries at University so if you al hang on for a few more years I will see what sort of soccer game I can make

I haven't bothered with EA after FIFA 99. The games are just pure crap dressed up to entertain us for 20 minutes. Either download it or buy it pirated, but never... ever, buy it original, it's just not worth it.

hmm I actually own the game, wc2002, and I think that the game is very good. I like the new atmosphere and the new 1 touch system...
there is also many other great improvements in the game..
MY advise is for you to buy the game!
I will give it
8½ out of 10 in graphics
8 out of 10 in gameplay, which is much better than fifa 2002.
also the sound is good, but I am not the one to judge whether it is better than fifa, but again who is?

ummmm BUY A GAMEPAD, people that play with the keyboard and then complain about gameplay of the new versions piss me off.

these new versions are meant for a gamepad, get one and you will see how much easier the game is.

wc2k2 is the best fifa game i have played, gameplay is much improved among other things.

Yes, a gamespad would make passing easier. When I said the gameplay was crap I meant that even if I could pass perfectly it would still be crap.

When the computer gets the ball in defence and does 5 passes in their own third, I can't help but notice how unrealistic it is. And whatmakes it even worse is that if you let the computer get into the same defensive position with the ball they will ALWAYS do the stupid defensive passing.

You should set up a game with the computer playing against itself and then turn your TV on and compare it with real soccer. If you can't notice the difference you should switch to hockey games because EA does them much better.
