I see thats fair enough. Although I was tempted to do a 2001 Champions League playthrough with Inter by replacing Helsinborg. By the way for the 1999 roster, was it done in purpose that Roberto Baggio has a higher overall than Ronaldo?

It's been known for years. I can't create hundreds of "clones". I create them in case of extreme need. For every major player you should have at least 3 versions with three different OVRs. But this is a huge waste of ID and space. Because each clone carries the face files with it. It would be like having the weight of hundreds of new faces. I remind you that it is not a real simulation. It's a mod made by a person in his room on a video game that has very little of its own in terms of simulation XD

Nah I understand it. It can be tedious trying to change player IDs for different variations of the same player.

Yeah, and also the space issue (the patch would probably weight 10+GB just for all the duplicate files needed for each player (i believe @V.K. mentioned something with Rev mod, but that´s not how this patch is edited)

More than a question of Rev Mod, where I also assign specific faces to the various players other than the one visible from the CM, it is a matter of mere database. To have perfectly fitting roosters for each season we would need a minimum of 3 versions for each important player. Baggio in 1998-99 was not at his absolute peak so we would need to create a Baggio with a lower OVR to use from 1998 to 2004. But we would need a Baggio with a much lower OVR for the first few seasons at Fiorentina. Let's say from 1985 to 1987. Each clone obviously has his face. So a player (Baggio) steals three IDs from me and the weight on the hard disk of 3 faces. Not bad... it's not much. But this work should be done for hundreds of players. Going from Maradona to Pelé from Crujff to Van Basten from Zola to Meazza from Liedholm to Suker and so on with an infinite list. And Not bad... it's not much written much before becomes a huge problem. A bottomless pit.

I prefer to open the doors 20-30-40-50 years backwards and provide much more planning and content of the patch than to do the decade 2000 where I have to depend on others 100% and which dies with those 10 years. Paradoxically I can complete the 80s faster than the 2000s (top 5 championships) because the shirts are simpler and because I don't depend on other users. Because I can't slave over the forum to get my shirts made. I'm not the type, you know me. I aim to try to do everything in the most independent way. I don't want to be a burden and I don't want to stress anyone out. I try to work with a minimum of pragmatism by combining tastes, needs and my limits as a kitmaker. If you complete the Top 5 nations for the 90s you have years of guaranteed development in your hands. If I focus on the 2000s everything remains stagnant, a huge and eternal open construction site. What's best in the end?

Having said that.... For me, editing is a hobby. If I didn't edit FIFA I would edit something else. It's my main pastime. I like taking a game and adapting it to my needs. I don't know how long I'll go on, I hope for another two or three years. But it depends on many things. Limits of the game, health, but also functionality of the tools. I would classify this option as indispensable. If the CM stopped working we'd all be in deep shit. Already the tool for making Wipes is dead. In the future, after a Windows update, the same could also happen to the CM or DB Master. However I hope to do another two or three years. Then in two or three years we will see. I've been in the FIFA editing business since 2004. I was 21 years old. Now I'm almost 41. Half my life... There are teams from the patch that were current teams when I started editing. When I started editing Messi had not yet made his debut with the Barcelona first team. So you also understand why for me 2000 is not truly classic. I was already here editing XD I saw and edited those teams. I am old.

Giggi explained several times that at the moment he hammers on the 90s to have a base which helps him to go backwards to the 80s / 70s etc like he did for Serie A
And which is not the case for the 2000s, because the 2010 DB contains only clubs
I don’t think anything is planned for the 2000s but if top quality kits are offered for example by TonyKroos? Who knows?

At the end only Giggi knows the answer but I recommend you not to ask too much about this topic, like Skoczek already said
