Dribbling too damn impossible!

I would like to hear what others think about how they changed dribbling in this year's PES.
For me it's certainly got worse. I agree that it should be challenging and stuff, but now it's practically impossible to get past more than a single defender. Figo and Zidan who's dribble accuracy stats are well in nineties can't dribble a ****. The button which represents R2 (as of ps2 default layout) which I used to get around oponents in Pes4/We8 by quickly changing directions now is useless mostly.
It seems that only extremely fast players like Henry and Robben for example are good players. Although pace is important it's not everything imo, Figo or Zidane have never been particulary fast at running, but they could fool defenders with neat turns and dummies. In Pes5 demo defenders are always faster than the dribbler which is not true in real football.
I want palyers who's been known for their close ball controll to be such in pes game too. It should be hard, but it should be possible to make occasional slalom through 3 or 4 oponents when using excelent dribblers, don't you think?

I think it's at a challanging level, it is perfect now.

Now more cheap Henry run-ins.

It's really fair now, any team has a chance.

I lost to Real Madrid with with Chelsea but beat them with Valencia right after

I agree with what you are saying, sometimes defenders "magically" catch up to my fastest players like if my guys were walking or something....But I found out that if you have a fast player like Saviola (which is a great example) by using a certain pace, you can easily get through a couple defenders...but If you have someone with a lot of talent but little speed (like Riquelme) then it is really hard.... :nape:

i disagree with you man i managed to get around a couple of defenders with zidan and figo and beckham in real madrid and with aimar in valincia and the player no 3 (couldn't remember his name) and with hleb in arsenal i only give you an example of the slow players and of course the other's can dribble as well it's only a mattar of timeing and vision
i mean if you have passed one defender and faced two or three more blocking your way and you try to dribble (you will be insane to even think about that option) you will lose the ball for sure or in the best case you will get a foul you have to go back and figure another way to goal couse dribbling is for one on one situations not for one on ten this games dribbling system is just about right it's all about using your mind which is three feet above your ass :) lol

i can dribble around defenders easily with zidane. i must foul me to stop me. i like doing the elastico with ronaldo though, it looks like when u fool a defender.

ive nutmegged a few players, but that was playing an experienced human player if that makes a difference.

I think the dribbling is way better now, compared with PES 4.
What is the challenge to dribble past 3, 4 man? How often does that happen in real life football? Almost never (at professional level that is).
In PES 5 Konami seem to have build in a slight delay in response-time, which is realistic, because no player can act in a blink of an eye. Physicly impossible for humans.
The game has won in realism by increasing the difficulty in dribbling; well done Konami!

Why is that a bad inclusion? I find it very logical. If you move 90 degrees you in fact do a sidestep. If you want to pass along a defender, going to your left, you move diagonal forward, not in 90 degrees!

The sidestepping is good, but they animated it crap. Its like they are sliding, and if you watch the replay they are actually sliding. :nape:

Actually you're wrong, cheap Henry run-ins are now more obvious, because now only fast and strong players can do any of them and he does it all the time. Playing the demo for a while now, I've come to conclusion that Arsenal is by far the strongest team from those four and most difficult to beat. Just because they have fast attacking players. The same goes when I'm Arsenal, I don't even recall losing a single match, usually it's 3:0 or 3:1.
Real is utter crap in the game although they have very skilled players. That's because most of them are slow and have lower body balance than an average Arsenal player. Dribble accuracy doesn't mean a **** if your player gets cought up and pushed away from ball.

Yes, tha was my point. And I think it's wrong. Now every time people will go to play online they would rather choose only temas with best average speed, because it's easyer to win with them.

It seems that you're talking about We9 (no Ronaldinho in Pes5 demo).
And tes, defenders foul on me often when I go with Zidane or Figo. It's a consolation at least compared to Pes4 where cpu players treated you like a punching bag and didn't even get a whistle.

First of all, I don't want to dribble 3-4 defenders every 5 minutes, but I would like to be able to do it at least sometimes and at least with top class dribblers.
And you are exaggagerating about ''almost never'' in professional football. You see some great individual goals scored or runs made every week. Just watch Eurogoals or some other highlights programm.
In PES 5 Konami seem to have build in a slight delay in response-time, which is realistic, because no player can act in a blink of an eye. Physicly impossible for humans.
I'd rather see no delay at all, not for defenders nor attackers. When you're executing some action in real life you do it imidietly not after brief moment of paralyze. Unless you're drunk, disabled and whatnot.

I'd rather see increase of realism by making AI samrter in attack and actually scoring some goals against me. Now I'm playing 30minute half on 5 stars and only challanging matches are when I play against Arsenal for a reasons I explained above.

As for the Pes5 demo itself, I absolutely love it and it's not annoying anymore like pes4/we8 was. New dribbling system is probably only serious complain I have right now.

just try to deceive a shot or a long pass. against the com it's very effectiv. (don't know if the word deceive is the right one)

i love this game but its true.......guys like Saviola and Martins are way more valuable than Riquelme or Veron in this game since its impossible to dribble with them.

no man i disagree not only fast players are important but playmakers as well fast one's or slow one's i mean it's all about momentum arsenal have a great striker but if thair isn't a player in the midfield to serve him with through balls and crosses he is almost useless and take care of almost couse he can get a goal but it will be by luck or a deflection or anything else and thair is also the defence line and tactics are important than any other pes game when i played chealse i lost 3-1 then i changed tactics ang made some man to man's and some covering then i stoped thair attacking lines and opened up mine and won 5-0

Have you guys trieds holding R2? Makes dribbling much easy, like if you're running at speed, R2 allows you to change direction immedietly.

And as for players catching up to your quick players, I think that's complete rubbish. Once I beat a defender and breakaway, nobody can catch me. Tap your run button to run faster, incase you didn't know. :ewan:

You can do teh elastico with Ronaldo, Cisse and a few more other players(not in the demo).

when watching a real time football match you may see sidesteps but do you see them all doing the same kind of "sliding"side step one million times?the sliding side step is now one of the most frequent moves in the game and its not even a pretty side step.i really whished they didnt include this in the game cause i'm getting mad of seeing being done nearly every time you try to dribble!
