dullard here can't get the demo to run

i've downloaded the new demo, extracted the files to a new folder but when i click on the demo.exe file it goes to a black screen then after a few seconds my own desktop comes back on screen. anyone got an idea what i've done wrong?

Double click auto run instead. If you cannot install it, richt click the autorun.exe and select properties. Go to compatibility tab and set compatability mode to windows 2000.

Open the autorun folder, find autorun.cfg and make sure it's not read-only. Then open the file with notepad, find the DirectXVersion=9.0c line and replace 9.0c with 0. That should fix it.

..hey guys ...i got the same problem except it doesn't work with the fix-up suggested...
and if i press on autorun.exe i have a pop-up message that is asking for "insert cd/dvd 1"...any thoughts?????

mrburns do you have fifa 06 installed or earlier versions of the 07 demo installed? If so it is possible that these coulc be the problem with your 07 demo install.
I decided not to reinstall fifa 06 after reinstalling xp, because fifa07 was around the corner.
Also, I installed the seven hundred and 80 something megabyte demo, which apparently is the newest and best and have had no problems.
