Maybe I'm not typing this... I would hope so.. but no it's true : FIFA 2004 doesn't even deserve to be called a disgrace or a letdown. It's just a GIANT FRAUD.
I won't repeat the problems with the IP or the controller (which is enough already(!) but will add new mistakes that makes F2004 such a disaster
1. The interface is the most appaling one I've ever seen... In the starting 11, there are only 9 players, you have to scroll down (and what a scroll!!!)to see the rest of the team...
The tables are also **** as you have to scroll (again!) to see how many points you have!!! I could go on and on but let's say it's just a big nonsense.
2. No customizing whatsoever !!!! For a game that promises to be the ultimate footy game... let me LOL ! No CUSTOM LEAGUES... Yeah you can edit the cups but no groups just rounds AND again the interface is soooooo practical that you'd prefer play the default teams instead of taking the pain to choose others.
3. Simulating disappeared in the cups (simulating match by match disappears all together!)
4.The 'simulated results' during a season are so unreal it's not even funny! For instance, I've played with QPR and an average of 9 matches out of ten finished like 4-0 or 4-1... seems 4 is the magic number this year!!! And what results !!! Seeing Man Utd being beaten at home 4-0 by S****horpe is... well it's as ridiculous as seeing YEOVIL WINNING THE LEAGUE CUP with no premiership teams in the semi-finals!!!!
5. Last but not least the gameplay. It's as awkward as the interface (at least, EA is coherent with their s**t). When you see you can trigger a faster bullet not moving than running... let me say it reminded me Actua Soccer 1 !!
All in all, the defensive AI is the ONLY average plus...
I've played FIFA since the megadrive version back in 1995 and I deeply feel outraged by this year's version which I consider as bad as 1997's
I discovered Winning Eleven 2002 with espxe a few months ago... it's sooooo ahead of FIFA 2004 you can't believe your eyes and I'm not talking about PES3 which I'll buy the day it's released!!!
