FIFA is pleased to announce that it has secured another unprecedented long-term commitment from Electronic Arts (EA) that extends far beyond existing ventures with a licensee. EA has signed up with world football’s governing body from 2007 to 2014 as the worldwide exclusive FIFA Licensee in the product category of interactive football/soccer player, manager and fantasy software games for all delivery methods including consoles, mobile phones and online formats.

Electronic Arts has had a close association with the game of football for more than a decade, having developed the very successful range of FIFA games launched in 1993 and currently with the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ game, which enables fans to experience the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ matches on a unique playing field.

In the early 90s, FIFA pioneered the industry as the first major sports governing body to endorse a video game. In 2004, FIFA continued in this pioneering spirit by launching the first officially sanctioned worldwide video gaming tournament, the FIFA Interactive World Cup. EA will pursue its support for this event and join forces with the new FIFA Partner Sony, as of 2007, to provide the gaming solution and further develop the ambitious virtual football tournament.

In the interactive world, there is a wealth of opportunities for FIFA to fulfil its mission of developing football on a global level and fostering the passion of players and fans. With this renewed partnership, FIFA and EA will continue to take their combined passion for football on and off the pitch and for interactive sports entertainment to millions of fans all around the world.

This will come as a massive blow to Winning Eleven and Pro Evolution Soccer fans and maybe Konami are somewhat bothered. I'm sure they will be! :kader:

haha Fifa is scared they cant make better gameplay for that long????? Jesus christ they must be chicken ****lens. I will only be buying the game that has the better gameplay. And for the last like 10 years its been konami. So until than i could really care less about a little "license"

FIFA got those license for the past years and ppl still keep converting into WE/PES , so I won't think its a problem, even EA gots all the license, coz they still can't make a decent football game compare to WE/PSE.

The cool thing of Fifa is that its a really good Moddable title...

I'm playing with CEP Career Expansion Patch that simulates full world leagues just like a small managing football game.. that you can play...
and this feature is simply fantastic!! (pity for FIFA arcade gameplay...)

Modders added a lot of domestic championships and also lower leagues and cups.

I hope next gen PES/WE will be moddable in the same way...
becoze a Career Expasion Patch with PES gameplay would be the best football game ever created! :jap:

people are more aware of pes now. EA cant rely on the license thing anymore. If they dont improve the gameplay pes will sell more and more over the years. But its a pity that pes cant have the fifa license now, but they aquire more individuals licenses anyway.

so, what it this do on license? i'm not understand how the license thing goes.

even PES/WE don't have the FIFA exclusive license, the game still have serie a, spanish league, french league, dutch league and etc. (besides no epl license). i see nothing different with that

I don't see whats your point. Its just a funny video that ppl try to make fun with. I don't get this kind of situation when playing WE. But I know everyone can re-create this scene exactly the same, by just having both sides player do nothing, standing & holding the ball like that. However, it won't happen when you are playing for real. ITS NOT THE AI THING. Okay!?

And please don't remind how wonderful EA-FIFA is, where is the magic spot, the guided missile shot goal, and all the player are ronaldo-wannabe, every player can do the same tricks. I don't call that is real, enough said~!!

Licenses are not problem for PC players. It is so easy to get amazing patch/option file for PES/WE. But to console players they are a big problem?

Aye, that and the scripting that your suposed to supercancel. And these dolts think its only licence that make people play Fifa. Neither games are up to it and I dont care if Kanomi or EA make it, I just want to see a better game than the tripe there is.

Yes i think its only the license. And we must be happy that we have SC in pes. Beause i played fifa rtwc and i really missed an SC feature. The passes in this game are so scripted, especially the througpass. You cant cut off passes, you are dependent on the AI paths and those are usually really dumb.
I dont say the AI in pes is great, but at least we can SC most of it out!
Furthermore i really cant come up with something FIFA has over PES gameplay wise?

No. Not at all. We've still got editing abilities. Something that licensing effectively takes out. Meaning that you have to keep buying the annual updates.

There is no freaking ball physics in Fifa, you can score in like 3 different ways — yey! At least in PES, every goal is different and special. I really like it when there is total chaos at your or at your opponents goal; players falling over each other, ball bounces off the post and no one seems to be able to score :)

But you dont need to. Just make YOUR choice and play YOUR game, simple.

Greeeeat 7 more year of a licensed piece of sh*t. :kader:

You know who you can blame for this.....all the people that buy BOTH games....

IF those people stopped buying EA then this wouldn't of happened.

WE will always kick Fifa's *ss

EA= arcade
WE=reality :jambo:
