EA Sports having problems.....?

I read (and one or two have subscribed it here on the forum) that EA Sports is having legal problems and their financial situation is far from ideal (Someone allready mentioned that they're bankrupt?)

This obviously means that in fall 2004, there will be no FIFA 2005 and even the summer's EURO2004 might be under threat.
Is this disaster underway, or a big releave for those who think that EA has been messing around to much with the FIFA-series?

I personally think that FIFA 98 was by far the best they've ever produced (and by far most complete at the time, especially national squads were not an item back then) and ever since there have always been to many remarks and comments on each of the following game. I think it might turn out well (the loss of the FIFA-series), so that another producer will head up for the challenge to try and make another and even better football-simulation. (Something close to the FIFA 98 options + FIFA 2004 graphics...)

Well, I can't quite remember where I got the article from (nevertheless it was in Dutch), but at least a guy (or girl, you never know) that goes by the alias of "pennington10" mentioned it twice (last time was on the discussion about player-changes in Fifa2005, started by an Indian dude, alias "Devesh_a1".)

But my question is actually, if anyone out there knows more on this topic, could they subscribe it or is this a practicle joke?

With the money EA Games makes off of titles like The Sims, Medal of Honor and the Madden series I'd say that the information you have is incorrect.

30 seconds later...

After checking their stock price I'd have to say that you're seriously misinformed. The stock (ERTS) is at $48.44 with a 52-week range of 23.95 - 52.88. It's up .70 cents this morning alone.

If EA are having problems, it's most likely in making a football sim that satisfies hardcore footy gamers. And that's all I have to say about that.

It still does not x-plain the Dutch article. I thought it was kinda strange, but when I saw two other people writin' about it here, I was just curious if it was really so.
But, indeed with games that EA makes (in general) it was allready hard to imagine that they would've any financial issues.

Glad we cleared that up.......
