I got some new information:

Madden NFL 2003 to Feature Music of Audiovent, Epidemic, Nappy Roots and a Debut Single From Bon Jovi

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - August 9, 2002 - Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) today announced the formation of EA Trax, a program that partners major music labels and artists with EA, the world's leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment.

Upcoming EA SPORTS titles Madden NFL 2003, NBA Live 2003, NHL® 2003, FIFA 2003 and NASCAR Thunder(tm) 2003 are among the games that will feature EA Trax, allowing such artists as Snoop Dogg, Papa Roach, Method Man and Just Blaze to be "in the game."

EA Trax debuts in Madden NFL 2003 (hitting retail stores next week), with a brand new single from Bon Jovi entitled "Everyday." Music throughout the game includes more songs from Bon Jovi, Andrew WK, Nappy Roots featuring Marcos from P.O.D., Good Charlotte, OK GO, Audiovent, (Hed) p.e., Dry Cell and Epidemic. In addition to Bon Jovi's debut single, several of these artists' songs can be heard in Madden NFL 2003 before their albums are even available.

Among the participating record labels are Electra, Capitol, Atlantic, Interscope, Dreamworks, MCA, Lava, Island/Def Jam and many others.

"Since the video game audience and the hip hop demographics are clearly converging, the partnerships between our two brands is a powerful vehicle for our artists' and music," said Kevin Liles President of Def Jam Records. "Def Jam's collaboration with EA will provide exciting and unprecedented cross-promotional opportunities in both the videogame and music industries."

"EA Trax recognizes that gamers are listening and that audio is an important part of the experience," said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music for Electronic Arts. "Music labels now see games as an important channel for promotion and distribution. We've introduced an enhanced audio experience into our EA titles, allowing our games to become a major promotion and distribution channel for introducing new artists and debuting new music from established acts."

Schnur added that with EA Trax, the program could "open co-promotional opportunities between EA and the major record labels on game launches, record releases, cooperation on advertising, events and at retail. There will also be compilation discs - CDs with soundtracks from popular games."

"Games are a great outlet for breaking artists," said Lee Stimmel, vice president of marketing for Atlantic Records. "When you look at Madden NFL football, NBA Live and other EA titles, you realize that the time people spend playing these games is enormous and the number of impressions a new song can make is in the hundreds of millions.

House/Trance is the only music that will really mix with soccer. Just look on Sky Sports when they make goal compilations....they always look good ! So i'd say EA should get more Trance involved especially Progressive ! FIFA 2002's music was good ! BT, Ministry Of Sound !

I like dance music in it..... high fast paced songs..... yeah Hipop and Rap fit into basketball games perfectly, not soccer. Soccer has no attitude factor:D
