I am starting to find FIFA 2003 more rewarding when scoring instead of less!

Who else finds it more rewarding now that they have truly got used to the new engine?

more rewarding than FIFA2001 for sure. not a big deal though...

that said, most goals are scored (both by you and the CPU) in the same fashion (i am talking PS2 here): run straight at the goal, hammer away a shot and celebrate.

no dribbling or passing required. no scrambles. no weird deflected goals. (virtually) no push ins. no header goals (i actually had one where Vieri was CHESTING a cross in... more a bug, i believe) . subtle curled shots aimed for the corners only seem to go in when playing lower levels, because on higher ones the goalies will catch or deflect everything that is slower than 300mph.

i also find the net animations to provide a sore anti-climax. realistic net motion is part of the immersion and beauty of a nicely executed goal. here you're shooting at a wire mesh. not into a net.

to sum it up: more rewarding than ever but still not rewarding.

Definitely

I'm with Nick Clubman on this - the game is getting really fun.

I started a MLS season on Professional and so far I'm 2-0-1. The tie was easily my most exciting game so far, down 2-nil after 22 minutes I just plugged away until I nailed a one-timer into the net at 89:45 to pull even.

In extra-time (MLS has Golden Goal for ties) I had 3 "mad scrambles" in the box but couldn't put one in the net.

I'm even starting to get used to making sure I do a good job of getting my CBs into position to stop the cpu from jamming it right up the middle.

The more I play, the better this game gets.
