Hey ant, Scholes is one of the finest midfielders in the Premiership, that's not an opinion, that's a fact. Check his goal count this season :) No need to drop him, he justs ne to be played in the right position and needs the right service.

Butt had a class World Cup, just doesn't get enough first team football at United, but when he's got match fitness he's the best English player in his defensive position :)

yep. agree lets all cool down a bit.
It was a pretty good game, can't beat an England win.
We did pretty well, however there are still a few things that needs to be look upon.

First and foremost, David James. I know he did that reflex save and yes it was pretty good, but his positioning is simply awful. There is certainly confusion among the defence. He has left his goal open for not once, twice, and has fumbled and mishandled the ball. He is my biggest worry out of all the places, forget about the left midfield.

Then it would be the scholes butt thing. I think butt played pretty well, and is a pretty good defensive midfielder, however is not dominant. Becks was the dominant attacking free role midfielder.

Scholes is pretty good with his one touch passes with his other man united teammates, but I would have to agree (I'm a Man U fan), the two of them didn't play their best, but their performance was definitely acceptable. Scholes is an effective player, and so is Butt. the long range shots didn't go in but they are certainly a threat, and the two of them do have experience.

I don't think Ferdinand played that well as well. Sol seemed to be much mroe reliable.

All in all, good game for england. United players played alright, but some of them have to up their game a little.

effective football is good football. effective football, wins. yes we play the long ball, yes it might be a bit boring, but it is effective. no offence, but especially against teams who don't have the height. How we played today, was pretty effective.

Robinson should play, no doubt, but good on James keeping a clean sheet, even if i don't like the england NT that much.

yep definatley, Robinson needs to gain experience, only way of doing this is playing :)

this is what i thought in WC 2002 before the england-brazil match...

France beat Brazil 3-0 in wc 98 final --->

Denmark just beat France 2-0 --->

Enland beat Denmark 3-0 --->

so England should win Brazil 8-0.

that makes sense, huh?;)
