England's untouchable trio

While debating on who should play on the left for England,

England definetely will have a strong Midfield line-up comprising of Becks, Scholes, & Stevie G....whose, in my opinion are untouchable.... While I must admit Becks is quite troubled by his off the field antic, he still the undisputed best right side player for England.... And there's only 1 Stevie G..He's the best holding midfielder ever produced by England and he's flying at the moment.. He's the England main man..

While Scholes has bang in goals week in-week out for United, his scoring touch mysteriously missing for England... AND in my opinion the most improved and impressive player of the season, Frank Lampard should be given at least 90 minutes to replace Scholes in the England starting line-up as to prove himself as a reliable replacement. He deserved the chance..Scholes has been quite static for England for the past 2 or 3 years..

well there are 4 midfielders so why not:

Scholesy (LCM) - Lampard (CM) - Beckham (RCM)

--------------------- Gerrard (CDM)----------------------

Width is not too much of an issue with Ash Cole and Gaz Neville running forward :p

Scholes is not that effective in the left, would be better for him to switch places with Lampard, who's not that good there either.

It will be hard to fit Scholes and Lampard in the same team.

No, the England 4 is tops.....better than France....only the Dutch midfield could give them a run for their money. Ofcourse, a midfield cannot win games, the guys up front who score goals are the succers that can win games!;)

Why not try Beckham down the left? Sure, he would have to turn inside to get his right-foot crosses in but so what? He'd get in some great in-swinging crosses and curling shots into the goalies top left corner.

i didn't mean actually on the left, just the left side of central midfield.

In the express today, it suggests:

-------------------JAMES--------------------------

G NEVILLE--CAMPBELL---TERRY-----A COLE

-------------------LAMPARD----------------------

---------BECKHAM----------GERRARD----------

-------------------SCHOLES----------------------

-----------OWEN------------ROONEY------------

i think this could be very effective with Gaz Neville and Ash Cole making runs down the wings :p

But i'd personally play Gerrard and Lampard the opposite way round or play Butt instead of Lampard

England's midfield is good, but by no means untouchable. Scholes is an easy player to take out of the game if you piss him off a little. Beckham... what can I say? I mean all you need to do is start a story about him banging a dude or some chick and he'll play awfull. Gerrard-Good. Lampard-He's good for the EPL where hard-work goes a long way, but I don't fancy him more than any Portuguese midfielder, or any others from England.

I liked how EA depicted England's lineup in Euro 2004 because it seemed effective when I use them in friendlies :p
