English people and Lucas Neill

Senior Squad
I wouldn't say Neill was a bad player, but he isn't world class either. A good, no nonsense defender in the Premiership, I think he just isn't quite there at the top. He can put in the odd good performance, but at the top that's not enough.

And he's a bit over-eager at times, going in for challenges that are dangerous and rightly gets sent off.

Hello Virgo......

I dont sign the players at Chelsea and I dont ask for peoples opinions on our players either.

This thread was asking for opinions and I gave mine. I cant work out whether you simply hate English people, Chelsea fans or is it just me? I guess It's all three to be honest. Still if your constant digging at us gives you a hard on mate then dig away. I'm just glad there is something in this world that gets you hard dude :funny:

Alex...I don't read newspapers at all mate. I find all the information I need without them. That way I can make my own decisions instead of being influenced by wankers from the press. You should try it sometime mate. :wootman:

Grunger....are you trying to tell me that defenders don't need skill? That is so dumb mate and you know it.
The whole question about the papers was just making a point...I didnt neccesarily think that you read either of those papers...As for me, I do make opinions by what I see, and that's why the constant criticsm of Neill annoys me...

I nearly agree with you 100%, except that I think Neill is better than you seem to. On his day, he is as good as any other defender, and for a defender can be brilliant on the ball (remember he started as a wide midfield player). He can be slightly over eager at times, but I think a good manager can handle this, as Hiddink did at the World Cup...He just needs to be told to control himself. He was brilliant against Brazil, so it has nothing to do with a higher skill level in the premiership or anything...
