=====================
ESPN Deportes availability

February 25, 2004

Spanish-language sports TV network ESPN Deportes is currently available on Grande cable in Texas and Liberty Cablevision in Puerto Rico.

ESPN Deportes will also be available on some COX Communications and Charter Communications cable systems in Spanish-speaking areas such as Southern California starting March 1, 2004. Subscribers will need to subscribe to the Spanish-language digital tier in order to receive ESPN Deportes.

Other major cable systems such as Comcast, Time Warner, Cablevision, and Adelphia currently do NOT have contracts to carry ESPN Deportes.

ESPN Deportes is currently NOT available on DirecTV Para Todos or DISH Network satellite TV systems, and it is unlikely to be available on DirecTV English-language programming packages for the forseeable future.

ESPN Deportes has extensive coverage of the UEFA Champions League through May 2006.

soccerTV.com expects ESPN Deportes to eventually become the exclusive residential US TV distribution outlet for the UEFA Champions League sometime in the future when ESPN Deportes becomes widely available.

ESPN2 will continue to have limited coverage of the UEFA Champions League through May 2004.

ESPN, Inc. encourages viewers to express their interest in subscribing to ESPN Deportes by completing an online survey at http://r.espn.go.com/espn/deportes/survey

Doesnt seem like many people will have this channel for this football season. Call your provider and demand for them to get the channel.

I have Cox :D ...i have the latino package :D ... I assume they consider Arizona (we get a lot of hispanics from California) a spanish speaking area.

I hope its true. (H)

I am going to be pissed if ESPN2 still doesn't show champions league games next year. Having a bunch of CL games on Deportes is fine but my spanish is very limited. Infact if what your saying in spanish isn't refering to no more cats then I have no clue what you are saying for the most part. I think one CL game with english commentary once a week isn't too much to ask considering the game isn't even in prime time but durning the afternoon when espn just shows a bunch of NFL flims stuff.

One thing's for sure.... whatever Cable / satellite company i have won't be carrying that channel :)

Even if i do change to one that has this channel, they will stop showing it just because of me :)

I live in a state where Cox has the cable monopoly, and I am hoping that they add it to the Spanish-language digital tier as part of the agreement that they struck with ESPN over the fee increases. For those of you that don't remember, there was a massive ad campaign, and even a website over Cox's threat to remove ESPN from basic cable.

I have Directv and the ESPN Deportes is on channel 426, but is all black and when I look at the programing guide it says "to be announced" so I think Directv will have this channel. :rockman:
