i was just flipping channels and there was a picture of david beckham on espn's "rome is burning." jim rome was talking about him...but i missed it.

did anyone else catch it?

JIM ROME IS A FACKING DISGRACE!!! I HATE HIM!!!

If he's talking about soccer, it's always something negative. I recall him making fun of Ronaldo and Beckham by calling them Becknaldo or something. The guy is a facking douche. He's always bringing up the Hillsborough incident and riots and blah-blah-blah, and a whole bunch of other shat to try and make soccer look bad.

oh yea. i hate him too. don't get me wrong. i agree with you guys. the man is obnoxious and ignorant. the only thing i have ever agreed with him was when he was knocking texas a&m. hahaha...

but...on his program, there's a section for rise/fall. and beckham was on the rise section...that's why i was wondering if anyone else saw it.

oh ok. i thought he was actually saying something good about soccer since he was on the "rise" screen.

hugo, i dunno if that's rome that said that, but he did say that soccer was for girls...and he did say "we have a problem here in america. we are good at soccer. we just beat mexico in the world cup. that's a problem. we're supposed to suck at soccer..." something along the lines of that.

not like we need more ammo to shoot at rome. i really have nothing more to say about rome. but for that last article, he forgets to note that the world cup has shown that parity in world soccer does exist. he fails to note that several of the world's top teams and world cup favorites in france, argentina, portugal, italy faced early exits, while teams as turkey and senegal exceeded expectations with wonderous showings.

Jim Rome's an idiot. The last time he was talking about Beckham was when Becks had his physical on tv after his tansfer, and Rome thought he was a pimp or something because you would never see such a thing on American tv.

Too bad he never mentions his soccer ability.
