adialex man, i don't really believe they used warm balls, but anyway, the chance for Romania to be drawn in group C, after Portugalwas drawn group1 was 1-to-3, so it wasn't really big chance to go into group C.. I guess bad luck.
Anyway, you don't need to fear or bother - Netherlands are easy, they played very very weak this qualifying campaign, so Romania can beat them again. But France and Italy are both very strong. You still have chance to qualify, if one team from Frnace/Italy wins all it's games and the other fails/draws against you and Nethelrands, and you beat Netherlands, then you would be in top 2 definitely.

hi comrade, I'm not so sure this draws are completly correct, because I can't explain how come everytime we're drawn in Group of death ...In Euro 2000 we were with Germany, England and Portugal now even tougher with Netherlands, France and Italy..

But looking on the full side of the glass if we manage somehow to get past this group I think we can make it all the way.

Well, you're very right, if you get past this group no one will be able to stop you. I mean, look at Greece - last tournament, they were definitely not in the toughest group, but got champions. On the contrary, the real team which deserve to be european champion, Chech Rep, went out of the "group of death" and won all 3 games from this group...
It would be difficult but i think you can manage it.
Even with one win you might go through.
For exmaple:

R-N 1
I-F 1
R-I x
N-F x
R-F x
N-I 2

at the end:
I - 7 poins
R - 5
F - 2
N - 1

In other words, you gotta hope that someone between France and Italy will be the group leader, beats everyone and you get 1 point from 1/2 games and a win against Netherlands.

Ivory Coast is the best african footballing country, Argentina was candidate for the win and Serbia wasn't as crap as they are now and hard to beat at the time. While Croatia wasn't able to beat a bunch of Kangaroos and the worst Brazil in fifty years and the Danish players were enjoying a nice glass of Carlsberg watching us progress in two matches.

Anyway, the fact is we were in the group of death in all the big tournaments we participated in the last 8 years and we survived them all.
