Hi,

Is it possible to extract the speech *.str files like players.str, speech.str and teams.str?

Thanks in advance!

There was news that Ariel over at socceraccess was developing Chant Raptor, which allows you to convert str's to mp3's and vice versa...when he will finish is anybody's guess...

those files are not chants. Chants files can be accessed easily with hex and other ways. But speech .str files can only be accessed using hex editing at the moment, and not as straight forward.(unless you have previous experience)

I know in previous versions of fifa, the game music has been as an .str format, and FifaMania have a converter for this already out.

I used to make a lot of music patches etc with it, but i dont bother anymore .

Matbe you could check out the converter, as if it is the same format, all you need to do is re name the files.

http://www.fifamania.it (Its In Italian, but just keep surfing till u get to the downloads, n look for "Music Manager")

It converts MP3 & WAV to STR and visa versa. But like i said I dunno if it will work with the new speach and chant files.

Cheers

Nath

Aye, but chant str files and speech str files can't be that much different...

Converting .str from/to .wav and .str using those music convertor are quite different from converting chants and speech .str files.

Music .str files is one sound per file. Chants and speech .str files are many sounds in one .str files. So, you have to extract the individual .str files first.

Chants and speech .str files aren't too different, if you know what you are doing, but speech files tend to be more complicated, due to the size of the files. Also, the fact that everything is packed into only a few files, where in chants, there are many files.

.big and .viv files are both file types used as pack files by EA, which both can allow compression and all the rest.

However, a multiple sounds .str file is just one .str followed by another. No complex file structure. (part of the reason why I can understand them ;) )

yea, the speach, and chant i think, files have many in one str file as you said, but i think if you can convert it all to mp3/wav (altho it may take a long time). Then with a good audio proggie you can break it down and edit only small peices...

I think thats what you said you do Hercules, altho im not sure  . But thats what I used to do...
